Agree with Horsey, a TfT lite allows people to dip in and cherry pick the best bits without giving anything...that doesn't have to be a tip, but a comment, a weather report, something that might be of use, while also not giving them, or encouraging them to get better at betting, which is a nice side product of TfT.

I've read every page of this thread, having to catch up more than a hundred if I've been away....u soon develop the skills to ignore skim Tal's Chess stuff. See why it's suggested but not keen. Anyway, thought Camel had retired

Lol thanks Cheesy and there was me liking your PLO articles.

It is a bugger keeping up and racing festivals or just a busy Saturday can add twenty pages.

Ultimately, you learn something new and useful every day ITT and it is ultimately a bit of fun. Hard to make a living off 2% ROI.

October's egg-throwing should be enjoyable.

Some good news.......

This just arrived, from Mr Power.

Congratulations. Our Glorious Goodwood Money Back Special has clicked which means we're giving you your money back.

That's right, your bet has lost but you're not losing out. We just want to be loved and since we can't turn up on your doorstep with a guitar, a badly written love song and a cheap bottle of sparkling wine, we're refunding your losing stake instead.

Don't forget, we offer Money-Back Specials all the time. So if this hasn't happened to you before, start getting used to it.

The necessaries: your refund will appear in your account in the form of a manual adjustment. You can view your account online by logging in and clicking on "My Account" followed by "All transactions".

Best of luck,

The Team @ Paddy Power

Whatever you may think of PP, trhat is really clever Marketing. Makes the Client feel special, even though we know it is generic & computer generated.

....and some NOT so good news......

This just arrived from Ladbrokes.

The e-Mail Header was....

Bet Taken Incorrectly

And the content read as follows.....

Dear Customer,

Thank you for placing your bet with Ladbrokes on Borussia Dortmund, Bundesliga 2013/14 League Winner.

Each way terms were mistakenly offered in the League Winner market, meaning you was able to back Borussia Dortmund each way at an inflated price.

We would like to apologise for this mistake and offer you the following options:
· Void your bet
· Settle your bet as a win only single

If you would like us to void your bet, then all you need to do is contact us before the start of the event on 09/08/2013 19:30, at care@ladbrokes.co.uk or on 0800 1694334.

If you prefer your bet to stand you do not have to do anything, If your bet wins it will be automatically settled as a win only single.

Yours sincerely

Ladbrokes Customer Services

....which is not quite so good Customer Care.

Personally, given the size of Ladbrokes Sports Betting operation, & taking into account how much their overall ew liability was here, (less than £10,000, surely, for the place part?) I would have swallowed that error if I were them, as it is bound to cause angst, though I suppose they could equally say "even if we upset you, if we go "Best Price" on any market, you'll still bet with us". And most would.

Anyway, it is what it is.

So now we have to decide whether to get ther bet voided, or leave it on. Personally, I'd void it, as the whole logic behind the bet was the "freeroll" place part.

Thread views please, and of course we really ought to also take heed of the person who put the bet up, who was "rinswun".

Could get someone to proof read their replies too...

As it goes, you can get on with Boyles @ 5/1 paying 1/4 top 2 if you want?
