I was keen to understand why the newcomer bet was deemed as requiring a bigger bet, when no one knew anything first hand, and the true value in the big early price had gone, from what I could see.
The result is irrelevant, It was a genuine question, but kept getting ignored, and still has.
That was deemed as lowering the tone.
You asked the question @ 12.14, I replied, satisfactorily as far as I could see, 6 minutes later @ 12.20.
You suggested a fiver each way, that is what I did.
Bobby asked for £20 EW, that is what I did.
I had no good reason to question either bet, or amount. If my judgement was wrong, so be it, I'll accept responsibility for any bet I take.
That is it - no more, no less.
I did not get involved in your further complaints, there was no point, it was just going round & round.
I'd really appreciate it if we could move on now please, OK?
Thanks.
I trust/hope you were typing this while I typed mine, because starting to get fed up with you/others suggesting I was complaining.
For the last time it was not a your bets bigger than my bet thing, it was a what's the rationale/thought process thing for the newcomer bet.
Thanks....
The timing of the two posts was 2 minutes apart. Anyone who has seen me type will tell you it took me 10 minutes to type. Minimum.
There was, in this instance, very good reason why I did not wish to discuss in public. You must have "delicate" sources from time to time, surely? This was one.
Can we let it go now, please.

Maybe feeling a little bruised and by the end of the day will now doubt have a whole carton of eggs on my face, but I notice we have 4 times as much on an unraced horse at an e/w price where we wont even get our money back if it doesn't win, we have also missed all the juicier prices......but not a word.
I appreciate it has come from an Elder, but still.......
It was your suggestion to have £5 EW, if you had suggested more, I'd have bet more.
A little fiver ew at best early odds is probably worth a go
Not really what I am getting at. I am happy at a small interest before everyone jumps on the bandwagon. Its the ratios I am questioning.
I have had a rebuff over a horse I put up when it was a 16 runner field. After a long courtship and study, I finally asked her out, but only for an "ice cream". I'm not too bothered if its liked or not. I put it up because I fancy it, and think it can win based on my earlier synopsis. Very much like Horsey does with his recommends.
Elder hears a whisper on an unraced horse that has halved in price, he takes her out on a blind date, cos someone says she looks tasty, for a nice meal, and its not questioned by anyone.
We all know his will win, mine will come last, but just pointing it out.
TBF Adz I respect you more for these posts than when you spot cut n paste scores of golfers I fancy/backed that are playing badly, which you have done on several occasions in the past btw.
I'm still not sure if you are cross about the bet size or the fact I got a bet placed that you didn't like but the bet size was Tony placing the amount I told him I was going to suggest. So if it is the size of bet then that was down to me not Tony.
With regards to the horse today it came from someone working with a Big 3 firm who was laying big bets v early to people that would have an idea of it's ability. In truth I could probably post about 5-6 of those type bets a day but this looked significant and was a great ew race. I haven't seen the race yet but I'm told it played up a little before the race and pulled hard, I know you have seen enough racing to know they rarely win when that happens. Sorry you did your money if you backed it.
If the prob is I am getting bets accepted without question then I'm not sure what I can say. lol at Elder by the way, I didn't realise I came under than banner. I have given Tony 5 bets this week, one lost at evens, one footy team won 3-1 in extra time which was no good, a golfer at a decent price that won't win a horse that lost at 8/1 and now a horse that lost at 4/1.
So he would be well within his rights to moan at that little run, the reason he isn't is he has also backed a 20/1 and a 33/1 winner in the last few weeks and understands that he might back more losers than winners but generally they will be good value. The reason one of those didn't get a mention on the thread is it was a price I was hoping to bet many times in the next few weeks (until the wanker jumped ship and signed for Wolves that is) and the other one was a golf bet. There is just no value for me to be putting that bet on the thread and killing the future price and the golf bet went on the thread and din't get accepted, so be it. It happens to us all so I am not sure why you are that miffed with my bet today, other than as I mentioned earlier you seem to have a bit of an unhealthy attitude towards the stuff I put up.
As for not getting an explanation and having bets explained when they don't win which you mentioned a few days ago. We are not all on the thread as much as you are and we are adults, we all know not every bet is going to win but if you want people to come on the thread 2 days after the event and say sorry it didn't win I am sure we can arrange that fella.

I think Bobby is on auto bet status so that explains that, not sure what else anybody can say about that?
You cant really criticise Tikay or anybody for deeming it worthy of a bigger bet when you asked for a fiver eway. Im pretty sure if you had said 20 eway it would have been placed as well (not a big bet in proportion of the current roll at all)
Sorry Horsey, you misunderstand. I was happy with a small bet on mine. It was not a value proposition, I readily accept, it was a gut instinct, change of stables suggestion, hence the min bet, but I did think it was worth pointing out, as you have only many occasions. This has zero to do with comparing the best sizes against each other.
I had no issue with anyone/Tikay backing Phil's horse. My point was, the price had gone, it had to win to make money, and it was based on hearsay. Tikay always says we aren't hear to back "tips", yet here we were backing a tip where the value had gone. My point was nobody, bar me, had even noticed/said anything, yet it was glaring.
My issue was wanting to know why this case was different, not unreasonable in a learning environment? Maybe I missed the point completely, I don't know because no one answered!
Then, I think it was Nico, pops up and says we should have even more on it, in reply to my question. This I truly could not fathom, and again my question as to why he thought that, went unanswered.
I think if I critique something its only reasonable to offer my thoughts if asked to answer......old fashioned good manners I suppose. Which you do, I hasten to add.
lets just say bobby used too create books for a well know bookmaker if he recomends a bet at a certain price you can be reassured that price is going too drop very soon and continue too drop and even if you havent got the price at its peak there is always value in it
i had money of both horses today bobbys price went in yours went out i dont regret either bet but as bobbys bet went in i obviously got bet value there as i was getting 4-1 for a 3-1 shot instead of 9-1 for a 14-1 shot that i had with your horse
this thread is about spotting value and getting on a 14-1 shot that is going too go off at 9-1 not the other way round
there are lots of bets out there and we could have a bet on every game every race but then we are just gambling
and not betting for value which is what bobby, badbeat and camel do for a living
if they post and say a price is too high rest assured 90% of the time the price is going too shorten before the off

ok fred i have spotted the game i would like too place my first fred bet on
i like the look of middlesbough away too wigan in the championship on sunday
the 5.0 being offered by stan james and boylesport on middlesbough is huge when other firms are only offering 4.2
and the betfair price is 4.5
wigan are being priced as a team just coming down from the premiership but it took them 45 minutes before they even got going at the weekend
wigan havent really shown anything since the first game of season
i think middlebough will win this game 1 time in 4 and therefore recommend a cheeky £5 on middlesbough as a value bet
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO FLAME

Thank you for the reply.
Appreciate the time taken.
Firstly, I think the world and his wife had the winner in their tracker after Goodwood and I lumped on at 5/2 last nite expecting 6/4(shrewd huh), so it was nothing about losing.
It wasn't about the size of the bet, trust me. I had only asked for £5 ew on mine, a damn site lot less than I actually bet, but a reflection on the stakes I put on them for Thread purposes.
It was more about the fact 6/7s was readily available earlier and we/Fred had missed it. Also the unraced whispers bit. Thank you for the explanation. I sort of anticipated the answer, my real frustration was at people jumping on the bandwagon, who didnt know, and were happy to have a pop, just because.
More importantly, I really really don't know why you think I dig out all your bets. I honestly hadnt noticed if I had. I used to post updates on all golf stuff according to our book. For sure I would love to see where I have singled out your selections and made a thing of them if they werent doing well.
The final point was more general, again only aimed at those it applies to, the ones who always manage to be around to accept the plaudits when s bet wins but not seen for days when they lose. Not sure I think apologies are required, we are all trying our best, but it does make me laugh. I'll live. Again, wasn't thinking of you when I wrote it.
Anyway, sorry if you felt an of this was personal, it defo wasn't. Genuinely.
Guess that's one more to add to my long list of admirers here. ))
If anyone else has anything else to add, please just PM me, cos even I am bored of defending myself now, and it is boring for the rest. Apologies to all..I think!

My accounts are not exclusive to Fred, I use them off thread, too. I won a lot of money from Stan James over a prolonged period because they had some lines wrongly priced, and I bet them every week, so they shut my account.
I do a LOT of punting with Wm Hill, far more off thread then for Fred.
Gotta go, sorry. Multi-tasking is a bit beyond me.

All happening at Wolves.
Crawley equalise in the 91st minute. Then Wolves get a penalty pretty much from kickoff for a handball.
