I leave this place alone for a couple of hours...
On what basis is Paddy Power so concerned you might know more about the market than he that he wants to restrict you to £1.87? Is it because you work for a TV channel that is past the news channels on Sky?

Jeez, I never saw this at the weekend.......
Gareth Bale scored his first hat-trick in a Real Madrid shirt
as the Spanish giants comfortably beat Real Valladolid to move within three points of La Liga leaders Barcelona.
Cristiano Ronaldo missed the game with injury, giving Bale the chance to take centre stage.
The 24-year-old did so in style as he nodded in the opener before setting up Karim Benzema to head in a second.
Bale sidefooted in Real's third before finishing from eight yards late on.
The Wales international takes his tally to nine goals in 13 appearances for Real

No spectacular goals from Bale, but was the perfect hattrick.

"only" 7 in the league though, so all is not lost yet. Bring back Ronaldo...

Ronaldo's injury is obviously not helping our cause on that bet. Neither is the quality of the opposition defence.

I'm actually curious to know how we'd get on backing PL teams in games where they are, say, 16/1 or better. 16/1 in a three way bet is pretty big.
I don't know the answer to this, but I did have a little look at records of promoted teams away to the big 3 of the last few years (Arsenal/Man U/Chelsea).
From 2005/6 to 2012/13 the record is 4 wins, 8 draws and 60 losses.
All 4 wins came against Arsenal, who were, on average, the weakest team of the 3 through this period.
Not sure it helps too much, but was one of those things I suddenly wanted to know.

Mandaric interview cliffs
"We already have a good coach in place"
"We don't have any idea of who we want, been looking for last several hours"
"I will be bringing in people to help Stuart"
"I don't know if we will have anyone in place by Saturday"
"Income down, costs up"
Mandaric does usually move pretty quick when appointing a new manager, doesn't sound as if he has sorted anything.
He could be wanting to cut corners here & seeing how results pan out.
Stuart Gray odds:
Coral - 7
Stan James - 10
Sky - 22
Victor - 25
Think there could be a bet with Victor, there. But then again another loss which is perhaps likely tomorrow & it could be a 50-1 shot.

It is generally the opposite actually. Dubai knows the figures better than me but I believe there has been a level stake profit to be had betting teams at below, say, 2/7 in the Premier League. This season is probably different but traditionally there tends to be a small overlay to the shortest priced teams. It is the favourite-longshot bias concept that we have talked about in the past. Odds compilers never want to lay a horse, team, player, at 25/1 that should be 16/1. They are petrified of it because it is the short of thing that gets them fired but the converse isn't really true. If they lay 2/5 about a 2/7 shot everyone expects it to win and the firm doesn't lose that much even though the equity loss is similar because the variance is higher so the individual losses hurt more. I am conscious of it and yet I do it every day when pricing up things that are a big price because the stress of laying a 100/1 winner just isn't worth it.

Haven't read all the posts as in a rush but don't fret over the Watford bet just yet.

Gary Twigg anytime scorer in Sky's live NI premiership game looks a good bet at 7/5.
A player I rate highly at this level and has scored goals wherever he has been. Good on the ground with both feet and has a good physical presence in the air.
I wouldn't put anyone off him for FGS.
I think a few Irish boys who post in this thread and if any if them were fans of Shamrock Rovers they will testify as to what a good player he is.

I'm a Bohemians fan and we hate Rovers but yeah, he's a very good player for this level.
