I can do the passing yards from NFL.com:

Manning: 4,811
Brees:      4,500
Brady:      4,049
Rivers:      4,048
Stafford:   3,976
R'burger:  3,915
Ryan:        3887

Matthew Stafford plays tonight so will add a few yards to that.

For those who don't follow these things, everyone has had their bye week, so it's just a straight shoot out now for the last two weeks after Stafford plays tonight.

Brees was the highest of the list above last night with 393 yards.

Last year 5177 yards won this market and I think it is fair to say we have run into one this year.  We have one thing running for us but it is a long shot, a Denver win next week coupled with a Kansas and New England loss would mean Denver have little to play for in the last game of the season. They might try and help Manning chase the records he is close to getting or they might restrict his game time in that last game. It is a only a small possibility tho.  can't remember the maths right now but think it is a small loss with two places Tony.

and Drew Brees was wearing an ice pack on his throwing hand after last nights game, tho he insisted it was just precautionary.

If we get 2 places for a small loss, I'd settle for that Phil, as we've had a terrific bet & sweat to nothing.

We really could use Watford getting a wriggle on though, their last win was over 2 months ago!

Anything can happen, of course, & there is plenty of time yet, but I fear (?) Mr Zola may be skating on ice thinner even than AVB @ White Hart Lane.

Sorry, but I gotta have a chirp - I posted that yesterday morning BEFORE either of them got the tin tack.

Let me know who I should out next, & I'll get it done.

Thank you Tighty for 3/3 NFL bets.

Come on the Ravens tonight !

4/4 Tighty !!

He did much the same the previous week.

Now that Fred does now follow the BE stuff, I think Tighty should link to his Betpal NFL piece here on Fred every week.

Incidentally, I note I got no credit for my Tip in my Weekly UKPC Update, in which I confidently tipped the Packers to beat the Cowboys @ 2/1. T'was never in doubt, not for a moment.

It sounds like you have really got into and enjoy the NFL Tony, was it a sport you watched much of before you came back to the dark side?

Very much so, I'm still in the "discovery" stage though, & a lot of it confuses the life out of me. I did, thanks to a good friend, a "penalty yards" spread bet at the weekend, but I had no idea what a penalty yard was......

The names confuse me, too. Sometimes it is, say, Tennessee, other times it is Titans, & Oddschecker, & the NFL page, all use one or the other. I am on Tennesee, & I get to the NFL page & I can't see that name anywhere, ugh. So I have to rack my brains to remember what their other name is. I go though all the nicks first - Bears - no, Lions, no, Browns, no, ahh there it is, Titans.

I've enjoyed all the different Sports that Fred has got me into, but I enjoy them more when I understand them. If Bazza puts a boxing bet up, I've got no idea, but I go with it.  Same with all the Novelty shite, I'm scared of it, as I don't have even the barest grasp of it. I'm ok with football, horse racing, RU & RL, as I have a grasp of them, but NFL stuff still makes my head spin.

So many expressions which are second nature to you guys - taking a knee always sounds excitingly sexy to me, reminds me of an adventurous ex girlfriend in fact, but I've no idea what it means in an NFL context.

Well that's an image I will never get out of my head!

I'm glad you like it and I know exactly what you mean re the team nicks and terminology. Taking a knee is what a team does when it is leading and there is still time left on the clock at the end of a game but the other team do not have enough time outs to stop the game clock expiring to end the game. So by taking the snap and just kneeling down it starts the clock ticking but ends that play as soon as the QB kneels down. It is just a safe way of running out the clock than actually having to run a normal play and risk turning over the ball.

haha, penalty yards is pretty degen stuff. When all around are cheering for TD's or sacks etc you are hoping for fouls and pass interference calls.

Anyone interested in geeking out and running NFL playoff scenarios.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/machine

I remember when I was a teenager, me and my dad around this time of year used to try and do it all ourselves, working with incomplete information and little resource apart from the standings to work with. I used to love it!

Yes its all up for grabs now isn't it, Cincy look to be in a worse state than Miami and Balti now so going to be very tight.

Love the memories of working play off scenarios out, I'm going to take the boy to a Wembley game next year as he is starting to enjoy watching it on TV, looking forward to that kind of stuff with him if he becomes a fan (he has no choice tbf)

Eagles v Broncos would be good for the TV audience. Plenty of points and dynamic plays.

Suppose there's always a thought about Manning in the clutch games, where Brady is less squigglable

Standards are dropping, what the hell does that mean?

Why it is a common word, down our way.

If you can squiggle something (transitive verb), then it must be squigglable. If you will, susceptible to squigglage.

Punter's Dictionary:

Squiggle (v.t)
To mark as unlikely to perform to required standard

See also:
Squigglability (n) - the likelihood of being squiggled
Squigglable (adj) - likely to be squiggled
Squigglage (n) - the process of being squiggled

Well I never.

My only knowledge of "squiggle" was from Timeform.

Did you know that if you cut & pasted the Timeform squiggle thing onto blonde, it does really weird things to the Post? I tried it once, disaster.

Loving it Tal.

ok mate, what is the Blackadder bet??

I've noticed at least two now, it feels like a prop bet akin to the England players trying to get as many song titles into interviews which was a very cunning plan and well executed.

Don't let the madeuppiness of the Punter's Dictionary put you off. Shakespeare made a living out of making up words, such as bet and pedant.

Well spotted, Bobby1. I saw the Price Regent picture yesterday and this was a golden opportunity to slip a reference in. Contrafibularities all round.

No idea why it's getting more exposure than normal tho. Maybe Fred is setting trends?

No, he's way too edgy, what with his rants & stuff.

PS - Feel free to Post his weekly NFL Tips. He's way too modest.

World Club Championship, Bayern Munich v Guangzhou (China), 7.30pm, Morocco.

Bayern pretty much full strength..

Neuer - Rafinha, Boateng, van Buyten, Alaba - Lahm - Götze, Kroos, Thiago, Ribery - Mandzukic.

365 go a standout 10/3 Mandzukic. Bayern best price 1/9 ftw.

Suggest Fred gets on for whatever meagre amount they'll lay. Each way, of course.

I'll probably play Ribery and Gotze smaller too, both @ 5/1, could be a few goals if they take it seriously, which they seem to be judging by team sheet.

You caught me in a moment of weakness, & we got on all three, for the MAX they'd allow me.

Have a good look at the players on Man C left hand side for first and anytime scorers

Wasilewski is playing right back. A no nonsense centre back signed from Anderlecht he filled in at right back when RDL was injured, and v both Brighton and Sheff Wed was left exposed, out of position and lacking for pace

Dropped back to the bench for the Burnley game he is back in at right back tonight (the game sandwiches Burnley and QPR and RDL isn't playing three games in a week after injury, yet)  against Kolarov at left back and I assume Navas at left midfield, with Silva in behind Dzeko

Navas isn't a goalscorer, but wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of chances down that side

candidates would be Kolarov 14/1, Navas 12/1, Silva 17/2 all each way for pin money

I would expect Navas to be on the right and Milner on the left.

I think Dzeko e/w at 7/2 (365) is really good as he won't be lacking in service with Navas and Silva playing.

Silva definitely a good bet at 17/2 ew as he will be playing centrally (and of course can drift to the left to take advantage of the weak full back)

Edit: Price gone on Dzeko but evens anytime is ok, a goal every 131 minutes this season and surely going to get some chances put on a plate for him tonight.

thanks Rob

Silva, Milner (not Navas) and Kolarov at left back for me then, e/w.
