Just spent far too much time on looking at the runners for Splash.

I got as far as googling Gemma Merna, and got stuck.........

Good grief.

I had to look her up on Wiki.

Describes her as a glamour model.. As opposed, we must assume, to an Ugly Model.

She must have had some life though, if this is true.....

having a breast enlargement at the age of twenty-one was one of the best things she ever did

I'm always a little wary of young ladies who pose in this fashion.......

I may be wrong, but that photo suggests to me that she'd be hard work to get a decent convo going on erudite matters such as bridges, concrete, & the finer detail of Newcastle's defence, or Mr Remy, who we are reliably & repeatedly informed is rubbish.

She's a patron of the National Trust and has a MPhil in Plant and Environmental Sciences from Warwick University.

I hope that you don't make such negative assumptions about people in future, even though I've just completely made that up.

Daily Report

Profit on Month £138.54

Outstanding Bets £2901.12

Free Bets to use ONE William Hill by 4th January

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc&usp=drive_web#gid=34

A profitable start to the month with the following winners

- Brentford @9/5 +£45

- Spurs - 12 @10/11 +£20

- ShortShrift @9/2 and 4/1 +£42

- Double Ross @2/1 +£50

- Masterful Act @5-1 £75

Offset by losses on Doncaster to beat QPR, Rooney FGS (not helped by him playing as an up and down the park midfielder all game) and the horses Layl and Perivale

It was of course a full football programme. The highlights for the long term positions were

- Suarez scoring his 20th of the season, and his 15th in his last six home games

- Arsenal's 2-0 late win, which leaves them top and with a gap to 4th, our bet being a top three finish

- Ings scored two for Burnley to take him to 15 for the season, behind McCormack (17) and Rhodes (16)

- Nugent scored for Leicester, his 13th of the season

So-so-s

Barnsley's point at in-form Birmingham

Palace's point at home to Norwich, which I could right up as good or bad news

Reading's late point at home to Forest

Poor News

Cardiff, Hull and Necastle Handicap bets all lost

Everton failed to win at Stoke

No assists for Navas

Losses for Sheff U and Portsmouth

Tranmere's point at home to Wolves was unexpected

No goals for Rodriguez, Bent, Ulloa, Vokes, Wells, Mooney, Assombolonga, Kee

Sheff Wed's win took them clear in the top South Yorkshire club bet

The final ashes Test starts tonight, and we have Stuart Broad six wickets clear of Anderson needing that bet to come in for a small profit on the series. Seeing how unexpected the results and performances have been compared to prior punditry, that would be some result. No heroics now please, Mr Anderson

Yes yes, quite so, but I do rather suspect her function is to be looked at, not engaged in dialogue.

Ahh, one last glimmer of hope from what has been a dreadful anti-climax.

If that bet holds, we'll not have lost any money on the Ashes, so that'd be excellent, all things considered.

Bit of a shame we blanked the Darts - totally blanked - but no matter, I think the bets were good.

I suppose we now start to gear up for the Super Bowl, & Cheltenham?

Please note, as the pedant from the Fens gets very arsey about it, it is Super Bowl, not Superbowl. OK? When he plays Edna at Scrabble, mind, he claims Superbowl is one word. Edna is 95.

Reminds me of a Jeeves and Wooster exchange...

Jeeves: The lad is of an outspoken disposition, sir, and had made an opprobrious remark respecting my appearance.

Wooster: What did he say about your appearance?

Jeeves: I do not recall, sir, but it was opprobrious.

I saw someone, Next Door of all places, described as a galoot yesterday. I rather liked that.

I've added galoot & putz to my list of insults. Just need to find the subjects now. I'd respectfully suggest chompy is galoot

Well yes, I think fit for purpose is the buzz phrase in this case. "purpose" to be defined, of course.

I think they call that "on the half-shell".

Busy on CBB entrance night? You were given at least three weeks' notice. Is there someone who can chunk up on your behalf? Like a non-tiddlearsey proxy chunkmeister.

We are going in HARD on CBB tomorrow night. Octuple chunk minimum.

£50?

Are you serious, you galoot?

Lordy lordy.

I've no idea what I'll be busy on tomorrow evening, but I'll find something, I promise.

A galoot could easily be a wading bird, if the recipient of your insult were to question your insult and you needed a quick retraction.
