Every National deserves a little tilt at finding the winner.

I'm not going to suggest my old mate Merry King, although I certainly hope he runs well.

The Scottish National is, to coin a cliche, a favourites graveyard, and with an average SP around 20-1 I think we can cast our net to that pack of horses out of the weights, discussed earlier in the week.

The one that catches my eye is Lie Forrit, would ticks a lot of the trends boxes and also won LTO when forcing the pace, as its almost a prerequisite to be in the front rank to win this National. This seemed to help him recapture some of his promising form when he was younger. Although out of the weights, its the same mark he has over hurdles.

Equally importantly Lucinda Russell (Mrs Peter Scudamore) has expressed how keen she is to win the race, as she is the Queen of Scottish jumps racing. She also has the favourite and one other in the race. But I think this one has a tremendous chance and reflects a good value price @25s with Sportingbet and Betbright, paying 5 places.

Suggest £10 ew.

£40 Droopys Ultana t4 Romford 9:04- missed some 2/1 but 15/8 with corals is fine. Decent claims to make all, probably go off 6/4

Think Tighty is offline, so over to me......

Coral restricted us to £26.15, so we had a nice round £25 @ 15/8.

Thanks.

That looks very interesting, but......

Sporting Bet would only allow us £1.16.

Best price elsewhere is 20/1, such as are available to Fred.

Betfair Exchange go 32 the win, and 7 the place.

So I should...........?

Even better!

If that refers to the SGN, Sporting Bet went 5 places, but I don't know the Betfair place terms.

Looking at the leaderboard at Augusta makes me wonder if the Racing Post might start including the sires record in its golf previews in the future.

Executive decision made, bit busy tonight, so we are on with Betfair Exchange.

Morning Mr T.

I owe you an apology. After that woeful tennis tip yesterday I was too annoyed to give you the best rugby league bet so far this season which hosed up. Still, at least my chili /cheese bread was a triumph.

Tonight Castleford host St Helens and are overpriced. They have won 6 out of 7 matches this season, including beating Wigan, and I thought St Helens were average against Huddersfield on Saturday and really should have lost. If Castleford get their mindset right I expect them to win.

Suggest £20 Castleford @ 11/4 with Corals or Hills.

Delboy plays his 1/4 final v Hanescu in a couple of hours.

Half-Time.

Castleford 24 St Helens 6.

Can I bok this one?
