Typical counterintuitive one from me.

Were it not for Blackpool recruiting Janet on reception to play in t'net, all the paper talk in the championship would be about how rubbish Birmingham City are. The Houston Texans owner and the Arab billionaire have come and gone (well, have gone anyway) and they're left with Messrs Young and Pannu.

11 players in. 5 or so out. Big wages gone and young, fitter players in. Clark doesn't have much resource available, but the new personnel signals a change in the stability of the club. From speaking to some reasonably well connected fans yesterday, the financial position is more sensible and there is a genuine belief that relegation is unlikely. Yes, a good season is starting the next one in the same division, but a lot are looking to be in the mix of the unaffected eight or so teams, who shlomp around the middle of the table like a well-set moss.

Scuy set its points line at 50.5, which would be 23rd two years ago. Not for me.

BMU asks for bets at 100/30 for a top half finish. What say the elders about £30?

If they sacked Lee Clark then maybe!

There's a nice Arb for those with Betway accounts in the 15:30 Ascot. Nakuti can be backed at 26 and people are gagging to get on at Betfair as low as 13   ;-)

Don't think it will be running, but a nice freeroll if it does.

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/championship/top-goalscorer

Looks very competitive as ever i am looking for something ala Aj Leitch Smith left field, think i have found one.

SUGGEST MAX BET364 will lay each way at 150/1 IGOR VETOKELE

Positives :

1 in 3 man so far in Denmark and Belgium, this is tougher but only 22 years old.

4 goals in 7 starts for Belgium under 21's

3 goals in pre season

played two full seasons under current manager Bob Peters elsewere so he must be a fav of the manager.

Looks likely to at least get a starting berth for the first month of the season.

George Tucadean the Romanian deep lying striker has been brought in as well, he is a second striker and provides more than scores.

Negatives :

Not sure Charlton will do that well

Front few look solid enough in market (providing they are not sold)

Obviously more than a few ifs and buts but 150/1 accounts for that

Good start!

Tottenham Hotspur: Lloris; Naughton, Dier, Kaboul, Rose; Bentaleb, Holtby, Eriksen, Lamela, Lennon; Adebayor

FC Schalke: Fährmann – Ayhan, Matip, Santana, Kolasinac – Neustädter, Aogo – Barnetta, Boateng, Meyer -Choupo- Moting

Horsey (and others), Moting is 7/1 FGS. I don't know anything about him beyond the obvious. I do know that we are playing two terrible full backs, a brand new centre half and another who's likely to leave.

5:30 kick off on ITV4
