I'm at a complete loss to understand the intended criticism of BE. Don't think they've ever done anything other than run their business in a completely honest and transparent manner. As a punter you're at liberty to take or leave their services ( or of course just get the benefit of the significant free to access elements )
In addition the founders have contributed generously here with tips and advice.
Tikay has run this thread in a professional and neutral manner being fair to everyone
Tighty is the most respected poster on blonde and in my view deserves no criticism what so ever
The majority of posters on here get up in the morning and go to work so they can pay bills
Tighty writes for numerous set ups so he can pay his bills everyone as the right to earn a living
The oldest complaint in the world is in play here.... Jealousy
I think that's a little harsh Trevor.
For better or for worse TFT has been cashed in to subsidise Blonde and the affilliate deal with BE gave them free license to head-hunt knowledgable contributors, most of whom now no longer post on here.
Just over a year ago we had a TFT long weekend in London with most of the then regulars in attendance, and it was tremendous fun. Bobby1, Camel, Dubai, Jakally, NeilC were some of the Fred elders who attended but sadly no longer post since Fred has been monetised.
It does feel to me like the family silver has been sold.
hello, i can't post much as i am working for a third party (dangerous, i know) and if i start i'll get too involved but there are so many misconceptions at play
blonde must have 40 or so affiliate deals. just normal for any forum
i think, the last time i checked, one person had signed up via it, now phil wants to criticise us for not being more successful at attracting affiliate revenue to BE, if i read it correctly
BE would have started if tft existed or not, so why not have an affiliate deal if people want to sign up having found BE through us?
we haven't cashed in tft at all. if we had wanted to do that we'd have charged a tenner a year for a subscription to it and put it on a private board. we resisted doing that
I dare say tikay and i will have to decide on a way ahead once this weekend is over. This may well be just running the positions down and not taking new bets. that's probably the odds on jolly as it stands
nothing at all to stop people discussing punting as they wish on here whether the apparatus of tikay's bankroll and the admin is behind it
one things for sure the "status quo" of bickering privately, fallings out and hand grendades being thrown in publically from time to time is not something we are going to persist with. no fun for anyone
for my own part, if i was in a position to turn down paid work (and BE is tiny in that respect) and sit watching jeremy kyle in my boxers i'd do it. i'm not, and i still don't think i have anything to answer for.
to be told last night that i have "sold out" when no one has done more to make the thread succeed than me on a daily baisis absolutely was frankly insulting.
Wow. You would really watch Jeremy Kyle?

Camel will be posting later today.
For the avoidance of doubt, his departure from FRED was perfectly amicable, we remain very close friends, and his absence from FRED was nothing to do with BE.

There will be no Daily Updates from Tighty until we decide whether to continue with Fred. Tighty, who I believe is the most popular, hard working, honest & respected person on blonde, is pretty upset at the allegations levelled at him, some of which are 100% inaccurate, which can & will easily be disproven when I have a little more time to reply. Someone has their facts wrong.

If you don't like or enjoy Fred any more, then the answer is simple, don't Post here please. It's not obligatory to be part of it.

BE? If you don't approve of BE, or the people who run it, don't buy their product. If you do, fine, go ahead. You are all adults & can make your own minds up.

It's just a forum thread, designed to be fun, & we make a bit of money along the way thanks to people sharing tips & info. It's not life or death.

I "sold out"? Last I heard, (admittedly a long time ago, I've not asked or checked since) 3 people had signed up to BE via blonde. Any income we eventually receive from BE (we have not received any yet, that I am aware of) will be used to fund the server costs of blonde, which are £220 per month & paid by me.

I sincerely hope thread continues in spite of the fact people have kicked off about not a lot as far as I can see, and slung a lot of mud around.

I know very little about sportsbetting, so thankfully most of this has completely gone over my head anyway. There are things in life to get upset over, and this ain't it.

Let's spice things up with a few dog bets for tonight. Copied from dog thread. Rec £30 on Messi, £40 on Fantasy, £50 on Dudleys and £20 on Hometown Day.
Great card tonight, can't wait for the Golden Sprint.
Lough Messi is a bet for me @ 5/2 with 365 in the 10:26. Returned last week after a layoff and it can be argued he needed the run as he led before leaving a gap for the re-opposing Lemon Pluto. Messi should go better for that run and looks to have a great chance to go clear in this race. Last week he lost, in my opinion, at least half a length from the traps with a funky step thing but there's no reason to suggest that'll happen again which suggests he's capable of pinging a 3.70 sectional. Ibiza Rocks in 3 is a good sort but doesn't always show the best early and should move towards rails, benefitting the selection in 4. With an extra advantage early Pluto and the added fitness, Messi should make all. Bet is all about the price, get the 5/2.
Nothing groundbreaking but I've also backed Evanta Fantasy in the 9:24. Coral best price 6/4, can't bet with my employers so I've taken the 5/4 elsewhere and still happy. Pings out and makes all in great style I imagine. Southern Mesut was easily led last week and whilst he technically should be capable of a 3.75ish sectional it doesn't seem like it's appearing. Buoy Johnny not consistent enough to fear or back at 3/1 and it all points to the bitch.
It took me a while to get on last week at Ladbrokes when they were standout best about Dudleys Spark but I'm already on this week @ 9/2 with the same mob. I don't understand the price this week, should be significantly shorter. The worry for me last week was the draw in 1 as he looked to run middle-ish but even then I felt his early would be too good. He railed anyway. Has an even bigger early advantage and should go clear easily and hold off late charges. Bishops Wood always a danger but 3 or 4 3.90+ sectionals in a row doesn't work here. NAP.
Time for beers but Hometown Day is fave of mine, usually seen leading 575s but has chances to lead this 400 too (10:11) and is worth a small bet at 5/1.

Don't know if Fred fancies having an interest in the
Omloop het Nieuwsblad
tomorrow, but I recommend the following bets purely on the basis that the favourites are too short:
£2 e/w Jean Pierre Drucker @ 100/1 (Buttermeup)
£2 e/w Mathieu Ladagnous @ 150/1 (Buttermeup)
£2 e/w Mathias Brandle @ 200/1 (Redshoutyman)

It was tl;dr and a bit pompous anyway.
I'll rewrite a (much!) shorter version later.

When I started this thread I had a vague notion it would serve 4 roles.
Firstly (and most importantly) it would turn Tikay from an ice cream into a shark. But also, we could all learn from fellow punters strategies, plus share information, tips and fancies. And all the while have some decent craic while we were hopefully winning a few quid.
I think I can safely say that it has been wildly successful on all fronts.
I can almost hear those horrible bookmakers trembling in their collective boots when Tikay logs on to place a wager. He spots his own value pretty bloody well now, and just as importantly knows when to swerve a bet when a price dictates he shouldn't get involved.
I've learnt a great deal from the TFT maths based punters, I'm pretty sure everyone has. Dubai, Doobs, Doubleup, BadBeat, Joe and Arbboy plus several others have shown us angles and strategies which we can use to beat markets. I certainly am looking in different places to find bets than I ever did before. There's value everywhere. Just keep your mind open and you focus sharp.
There's also countless "traditional" judges, who we've been lucky enough to share their knowledge and who I'm sure everyone has profited from following. The list is long but I would be remiss not to highlight the work of Hector, Chompy, bobby1, Dubai(that man again!), Tal, Tighty, Scotty, CWS (you're going tohave to explain that username one day), Jaffa, BigAdz, Exstream and Rubbish. I'm sure there are far more, but I'm getting old and can't bring them to mind right now. Apologies.
I would also be completely out of order not to mention the incredible work of Mr MereNovice. Without him the whole thing would have crashed and burned years ago. He's been amazing. Thank you sir.
And for the first couple of the years the banter was brilliant. I'll never forget the Barnet relegation bet sweat. Or the Dubai Wayne Mardle Aprils Fools coup. Rubbish's poem and the brilliant daily update posts. Most of all I'll remember the TFT bash, which was a fantastic weekend, the highlight of the whole shebang for me.
But sadly, nothing lasts forever.
Despite being the lowest of high rollers (I think the biggest individual bet Fred ever had was £150, right?) Tony can hardly get a bet on now with those cowardly accountants. He's shut down here and restricted there. It means he's having to resort to taking second and third best price or having no bet at all on a tip. Who can blame him for losing enthusiasm.
Plus I'm 100% certain the lolodds compilers of several lolbookmakers are using us to do their work for them. When a respected poster puts up a strong bet, they'll chop it without taking a wager.
Despite countless requests, no one has stepped up to take over. The whole thing is frankly a mess these days.
As for the teaching posts, they've dwindled from a torrent of useful advice to just a trickle. We are far from the finished article as the perfect pro punters, but no one seems keen to share their secrets any more.
And worst of all, there seems to be so much bad blood in the thread these days.
Sniping, trolling, jealousy and resentment. We were supposed to all be in the same boat - all trying to nick a few quid and beat those damn bookmakers. Now it seems in several cases we've become enemies with each other.
I wouldn't blame Tighty for sticking two fingers up to the thread and never getting involved again.
It's all extremely sad.
Lots of posters have disappeared. Me included. As Tikay said earlier, my leaving had nothing to do with Betting Emporium. I was disillusioned by one post in particular and decided the thread wasn't for me any more.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I guess there's a wide variety of reasons why people have disappeared.
But one thing is for sure. The thread isn't as much fun any more.
So I think it's time for Fred to be gently retired.
The one thing which remains on here is that a few knowledgeable guys are still soldiering on sharing their tips.
Why don't we increase the number of individual sports betting threads? Horse racing, dogs, golf and boxing are covered. Why don't we just add all the other sports and that way we can avoid posters who irritate and annoy us and carry on having banter with people we respect or admire?
What do you think of that idea?
