I think I owe £25, there was a bet whereby the price was gone but I offered up the £25 minutes after Tighty posted but it didn't make it to the spreadsheet.

Boost on the Grade 1 2.05 at Kempton today on everyday, 3 1/4 instead of 3 1/5, I'd like to make use of this with Minella Daddy - 8-1 is top price on the win and beats BFE current 8.6 but we are getting 2-1 on the place which is a shade under 7/4 on BFE and I like his chances regardless Smiley

Suggest £37.50 e/w with me and turn that -25 to +350, or round it off at 100 if we don't make it

what's attractive about Minella Daddy, beyond beating BF?

I feel we really should just back Cue Card today.  Even if Thistlecrack is going to be a top class chaser, it is more likely to be worse than Cue Card than better.  Cue Card might be getting on, but still seems close to as good as it ever was.  I know Arbboy was all for firing the "loltraders" who put up Thistlecrack at 2/1, but I can't help thinking they weren't far out.  Suggest £50 at 5/4 in many spots.

The other one is ch'tibello in the 2.40.  It feels like The New One and My Tent or Yours are getting a bit unreliable (though that suggests MTOY was ever reliable).  Yanworth looked very good last year, but we can get 9/1 on ours, which feels a bit big (bf are 9.8/10).  Suggest 25 with me (I can get 9/1) win only.

Also backed Frodon on the machine.

£50 cue card at 5/4 is on (its 11/8 skybet,bet365 for anyone that can)

chtibello 9/1 with you

Hope everyone had a great Christmas.

I was backing Palace to win the 12:30 match before Pardew got sacked. The best price was 3.0, so how on earth have they gone out to 3.1 now that they have bagged one of the best relegation-avoiding managers in the game, if not THE best?

Can anyone offer an explanation? And yes, I have gone in again since the news of Pards' demise.

Watford are a pretty good side.  6/4 them at home to Palace doesn't seem too short to me.  I can't explain why Palace were shorter under Pardew though.  Makes no sense.

Thistlecrack 2.16/2.18
Cue Card 2.62/2.64

What do I know?

Not like Scudamore was riding it to the line.

He was waving his stick about with 100yards to go.

I get that, but Cue Card is better than the horses that finished with him.   I wouldn't get carried away on Thistlecrack, Cue Card hasn't run to his best.  Still worthy favourite for the Gold Cup now.

Thistlecrack was never off the bridle there. Had a ton in hand. Could have won by any number of lengths.

He cantered into the last two fences and made absolutely sure of them otherwise he might have won by fifteen+ lengths imo.

Spine-tingling performance especially when he drew clear coming into the straight.

This was my immediate thoughts. Thistlecrack worthy fav for GC, but the rest finished in a heap so I don't know what to make of it

All I'm taking from it, is that March should be superb.

The horse has won on the bridle, against some good horses, and a very good horse that may not have run up to its best form.

I'll read more into Brennan's face when he was interviewed than anything else Cheesy

I have to disagree, you only have to look at his results to see that. Quite a few ones, but plenty of 2,3,4 & 5's, along with F's. If this was CC was 11111111 and a 2 today then yeah. But you never know what CC you have running.

All his jumps today wasn't great either.

All his jumps today wasn't great either.

Timeform had him as the second best chaser in training before today, 2 pounds behind Don Cossack.  He finished their top rated chaser 2 or 3 seasons ago. He has been rated 170+ by the official handicapper for 5 years or so barring a period before his wind op.  Think I'd take their word over yours.

The others were all decent enough, but barring Silvianico Conti hadn't won at the top level outside Novice chases.  SC was beaten 42 lengths last time by Cue Card and pulled up the time before.  Today he was a short head behind.  So he has dramatically reversed a downward fall in form or Cue Card didn't run his race.

As I said Thistlecrack is a worthy favourite for the Gold Cup.  But I'd read this level of form as somewhere like Cue Card's run in the betfair, and not 10 pounds clear.  Of course Thistlecrack could still improve, as it was only his 4th race over fences.

Anybody got paid on Strictly christmas day yet?  On one channel ratings, it seems it won quite easily.  No idea on the settlemenr rules though.
