Why would Southampton be 6/4 favourites at West Brom on Saturday

or why would WBA be 2/1 underdogs?

https://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/west-brom-v-southampton/winner

its not as if Gabbiadini is definitely back....seems he's only  50/50 by then.

Stats boys have loved Soton for 5 years and hated Pulis for 5 years in equal measure.

It's just not the same here without Mere Novice's Masters competition.

My legal team will shortly be contacting him regarding my loss of earnings litigation.

Settlement Day (March)

Apologies, I clean forgot about this last week.

If anyone is owed by Fred for bets placed in March, please let me know & I'll sort it right away.

I have sent payments to K4Suited & Doobs in the last 24 hours, so I think both of those are square now.

Several bets have been placed in April, & if these require settlement now, please let me know.

Marky - my tab must be getting a bit heavy by now - if you want me to have a square up, let me know please. Failing that, the original plan to settle up in Vegas is fine by me.

I'll send you an update, but fine to let it run.

Will feel like you're buying me into the m/e by the time we get to Vegas Grin

£50 on Barney 13/8 underdog vs taylor. Barney shorter odds for the outright and playing better

Agree with this. I'm on.

At a guess, how many people would bet a selection put up by Chompy or Arbboy on here?

Just seems more likely to me that one trader has seen it, than enough punters have backed it to cause alarm bells to be ringing.

It depends on the market. Everything would be automated and based on historical data, so it may not take many similar bets on sub markets to flag something for review. Especially if at least one of the accounts has some sort of "shrewd" tag against them to upweight it. It doesn't mean anything crazy is going to happen, more like the traders are trained to be cautious when they can't explain the increased activity and so just trim a price to be safe.

Really it shouldn't even need human intervention initially. No reason why the system couldn't make the change automatically and then let someone review it and revert if happy nothing was going on.

Barney is a shorter price for the outright because he is a shorter price than Taylor to qualify for the final four.  If they were both the same price they Taylor would be shorter for the outright.    It's like saying WBA are shorter than Soton for a top 10 finish.  Obviously because they are higher in the league.  Soton are fav for the game because they are a 'better' side.  As Nick Goff in the racing post says every friday 'the league table does lie'

I have no view on the game personally at the prices other than to say a coin flip game like this the draw is always value at 7/2 so the optimal trade if you think Barney is overpriced is to lay Taylor and not back Barney as there is always +ev in the draw in the game just based on simple maths.

Good stuff that Bobby.

Back to the Scotch league, there's no Dembele or Griffiths tonight. Scotty S is around twos on in most places to score any time, but there's still some odds against around. Also Eight x 3 are 3-1 that he scores in the first half, which is fine.

Patrick Roberts 7/1 FGS and 5/2 ATS are also good with Baldy/Tote.
He should start through the middle again as false 9 with no Dembele or Griff.

Not much time left, but if someone else is able to take on the money collection admin I can knock up an entry form based on the format from last year and run the scoring?

Aintree tomorrow

The 2.20 looks to be the ultimate trap, 8 runner race boosted to 3 and 1/4, Defi Du Seil best price 1/3 and four of the eight runners 66s - 200.

The Arkle was an account closer, just why do they offer these enhanced terms if they are closing losing accounts the instance an each way bet is placed?

I agree completely with old Ralph, the Mere Comps for The Masters, Royal Ascot etc were "furniture" here, & are a huge loss to us, as is Mere.

However, I'm not sure whether you'd get much interest for The Masters at this very late stage. The offer is much appreciated, though, & if you think it might work with reduced numbers, count me in please, & I'll take the veteran Ralph on Heads Up if need be.

Just adding that I'm also sad that Mere's not running his comps anymore.  They were the first thing I got involved in when I was a newbie and they were brilliantly run and he was extremely welcoming and amiable in all my dealings with him.  The amount of behind the scenes work involved in running those comps shouldn't be taken for granted.  I hope he returns when he's ready.

That is a generous offer but I honestly think it's too late now - I was hoping against hope Mere Novice might relent.

Vince had it down to a tee and the first notice would appear exactly a week before the event.

I hope the cantankerous old bugger is keeping well.
