Thanks Tikay. UFC is by far the largest Mixed Martial Arts org but there are others too including Cage Warriors which does lots of cards in the UK.

My last bet for tonights UFC card.
Lee v Barboza - NOT to go the distance @ 1.53 Lads/Choral - 8 points / £40
https://www.oddschecker.com/ufc-mma/edson-barboza-v-kevin-lee/will-fight-go-the-distance

This Lightweight contest is the main event so it will be a five round affair. We have an excellent wrestler in Lee vs a dangerous striker in Barboza- who has thunderous kicks and KO power. The strong point of each man is the weakness of the other and I think one will get the job done. As far as I can see, Lee has only had one five rounder before, which he won in the first and Barboza hasn't had any, so their cardio over 25 minutes is unknown. It should be an action fight. If Barboza doesn't get the KO in the first two rounds then I expect Lee to grapple his way to victory from round three onwards. I see this price on going the distance as a little out of line, so I've bet it.

It is on BT Sport tonight after midnight for any night owls. Good solid card tonight with some excellent fights. Welshman Brett 'The Pikey' Johns will fight around 3am. I really think he has a good chance to win vs a dangerous opponent, but it is priced almost as a flip and he has been tipped up quite a bit after a sensational victory last time out, so the odds were a little shorter than I'd hoped.

and this is surely his last chance to try to put himself up there as a top 15 contender in the Welterweight division.

Meant that this is last chance to prove he is a top 15 ranked calibre fighter - it is his first fight in this division....

Who was it that did all the write ups of the first UFC events on a blog a few years ago and put up tips? Was that him? Can't remember.

Here's the thread that Scotty2Hatty started. It refers to "MMA", which I assume is the same thing?

AdamM was another regular contributor.

Marky147 even attended one of the fights in Vegas one year as I recall, but I'd not take much notice of any views he has.

the record for seed exits in the first round by the way is 8: 2012

i do think, as i wrote yesterday, that the "all players outside the top 16 play three qualifiers while the top seeds have a fortnight off" issue, now in its third year can be a huge factor

today the qualifiers have hit the ground running and the seeds have missed a lot of balls

worth watching for the iffy top 16s like McGill, Bingham etc

and the break sorted that out

Winner of Kyren Wilson/Shaun Murphy in round 2 (if they both win to form) has a huge chance in that quarter now

Dotty in full gritty mode already

I admire him

quite limited but a huge fighter. fantastic temperament

not the first round draw you want as a seed struggling to stay in the 16

Be interesting to see what price Allen (presuming he wins) the firms go against Perry.

One thinks it will be shorter come the first shot

Ali Carter seems to have lost the plot completely at the moment, several wild shots never even threatened the pockets.

Graeme Dott might be the most consistently underrated top-class snooker player of all time, especially at The Crucible.

Fairly surprising since he has won one world title and been runner-up twice.

Agree with you here Ralph. When at his best he had a run of results most would love, as you say a win, two runner ups but in between he was also knocked out by the eventual winner twice too.

He’s been playing well for months now, biggest issue he has had is he’s been drawn to play Ronnie in a few of the first to 4 and 5 comps. I hope he wins this match and gets to take a few more scalps over these longer matches.

Celtic lose today (what a surprise) so title to be won against rangers at home next week unless Aberdeen and Rangers both lose today

Sorry Iron, thought it was a good bet till Sunday. Certainly wasn't chucked  - hibs deserved the win (just back from the game).

i dont think it was chucked just dont think they cared if they didnt win and think the fans would prefer to do it at home to rangers for the party

Agreed Ronnie talks in glowing terms about him as well
