Amazing

http://www.scotsman.com/scottish-independence/jim-sillars-warns-of-day-of-reckoning-for-bp-banks-after-yes-vote/

Sillars is the first nationalist to say, in public, that an separate Scotland would seek vengeance on companies who supported 'no'.

not sure that is too wise!

It's a cracker.  Check it every morning with coffee.  Dunno what I'll do when the vote is done and dusted.

Oh this will run on for quite a while after the vote with all the "I told you so"'s

Just embarrassing

"The heads of these companies are rich men, in cahoots with a rich English Tory Prime Minister, to keep Scotland’s poor, poorer through lies and distortions."

as long as everyone avoids personal insults, its all good. MUCH higher standard of debate than you get in a lot of comments sections for various publications which soon descent into vitriol and extremeism from both very right wing and very left wing

i've learnt a lot. would like to un-learn some of it, but you can't have everything :-)

Sillar's isn't a Nationalist he's Labour, Socialist and Internationalist.

I don't like how anyone supporting independence is automatically judged to be a nationalist.  The real nationalists in this debate are the Brits who value their union above all else.

Threatening them is sure going to assist when the boards decide which of Scotland or UK to pay tax to.

Things have taken a sinister turn at my house. My neighbour is playing "I can't understand" by the proclaimers on repeat. Been going for an hour! I cannot even describe the scene out of my kitchen window

Those comments from Sillars are imo anger at what he see been done.  This referendum was about the will of the Scottish people.  Neo-Liberals should not have been part of it and the PM calling in favours from his friends to put out scare stories backed up by State Media is a disgrace.

There is much anger in Scotland just now, and there will be more anger post the referendum if its a no vote and we see further cuts and retention of powers at Westminister.

well there will be in around 49% of the voting base, presumably c51% will be quite relieved?

either way, yes or no, the whole process has driven a big divisive stake through Scottish society hasn't it?

kmac i admire your relentless campaiging.  Can i ask you a question?  How much worse off financially would you be happy Scotland to become under independence before you changed to voting No?

To be honest, even ignoring oil there should in theory be no reason why Scotland could not motor along happily like a country like New Zealand on its own.  The real question is to get there there will be perhaps a decade of pain while transitions are made?  It's if that is worth it I suppose.

I've read a lot about this over the last few weeks, and I'm starting to come round to the idea that if I were a Scotsman I think I'd vote "yes" and give it a go.  Swallow some short term pain for a longer term objective.

Still don't think the yes vote will win though as the uncertainty card has been played quite well imo by the "no" campaign.

Why aren't neo liberals allowed to be part of it?  Do you think only Scottish people loyal to the supreme leader should be allowed to vote?

Doing something well is about the only accusation I have not heard against the no campaign.

It is like chuckle brother politics. We gain ground debating this with our friends and colleagues and then one of them drops another whopper!!!!

Had a good chat with my mum earlier she is torn. So I popped in for lunch and played her KMACs greatest hits to reassure her. Think she may end up at no due to all her children being based in the financial sector.

Why does adding neo in front of everything give me bad connotations? Is neo always bad, I thought it just meant new

There are many people voting No through fear.  I don't think it has been all that divisive most of the debate has been had in good spirit.
