It seems a little odd that Gabriel now gets suspended and fined for complaining about a red card that should never have been given and has since been rescinded.
Meanwhile it's business as per usual this weekend for Captain Cockup aka Mike Dean.
It's illogical, isn't it?
He was correct to complain, as has now been confirmed.

I can't believe you, Tikay of all people, to say he was correct to complain!
I thought you were of the old school Corinthian spirit of, 'right or wrong, the referees decision is final'
I believe they were quite right to suspend him for not obeying the referees instructions.

Definitely this, it might be annoying but surely we all know he has to abide by all of the referee's decisions. The fact that some of them will always be wrong is irrelevant.

I am - it is the authorities who have now accepted they were wrong, so to my mind, all bets are off.
You buying that? Thought not. OK, you got me. In mitigation, I please Arsenal bias.
Great excuse to post this though.

Thank God for that. Tikay is back. I thought someone had hacked your account for a second.
Bowler hats, the Royal family, roast beef, cricket on the village green on Sundays, the Duke of Wellington. That's what I think of when I think of Tikay.
He's not some apologist for some Carlos Kickaball, snarling in the face a referee.

Well I'd not go that far, but in all seriousness, no, players should never, under any circumstances, argue with the Referee. This one is a bot odd though, as his alleged offence was struck from the record, "no case to answer".
NFL & Rugby Union are just as competitive, & they seem to do ok generally.

He's very good at pointing out everyone else's flaws, I'll give him that. He's not so great at seeing his own.

I think he definitely is aware of those but chooses not to publicise them.
Judging by his record it works pretty well

The difference is that those guys can "go upstairs" to the video referee who can relay back to the official what actually happened.
The problem with our football officials is that apart from the new goal-line technology (which now creates virtually no controversy whatsoever) many of the decisions are to some degree subjective, which by definition invites argument.
May I present exhibit A.

Goal line technology, pfffft. No need for that stuff. Referees are eminently capable of seeing if a ball has gone over the line or not.

Arsene Wenger monitors this thread closely.
We know the fickle fans are like rabid dogs but the moment Ralph says, "it's time", Arsene will know it's time.
