Fans like Ralph are part of the problem. It's time. Buy no outfield players. Buy a goalkeeper. Don' t play your world class keeper in the champions league. Quite strange.

Can we add another couple of sads to the title of this thread?
k thx.
Done.
I'll start.
Why no cech?
Think I read that he had a slight injury problem.
But he's on the bench. Either he's fit enough or he isn't. If the keeper gets injured after 2 mins, what happens then?

I think Wenger would be an excellent national team manager.

? That's a little harsh!!
Too many modern fans turn at the drop of a hat. Fans like Ralph are certainly not the problem.
Should have played Cech, sure. But come on. We're poker players and we don't like results orientated thinking.
Ospina was fine last year. A horrendous error indeed but he was 1 player and 1 mistake. It was a full strength side. We all thought that side would be good enough to do the job tonight. Ospina isn't the reason Arsenal conceded 3 goals or indeed the reason Arsenal lost tonight.

Yes, quite possibly. Perhaps better than he is as a premiership manager. I think his time is coming to an end at club level.
Do we have any Corals punters who could help us out? 80/1?

Ospina looked shocking all night.
Warning signs were there before his stinker.
He came flying out to claim a corner and got about half way out to were the ball was headed. Luckily it was an Arsenal defender.
And then from a free kick in the first half the ball was whipped in when he should have been coming to collect. He backed right back off into his own goal and caught the ball on the line. Was pretty much identical to the goal, however he just about managed to hold onto the ball.
He also looked shocking on the ball and his distribution was poor.
Sanchez is absolutely quality like.

I think Arsene is a victim of his own loyalty sometimes.
Ospina did a really good job for us last season after claiming the #1 spot from Szczesny and his stats. were among the best in the league, consequently I think AW would have felt it unfair to only play him in the Carling Cup as a reward for his good service over the last year.
Ospina's howler aside conceding three goals at home to Olympiakos is ridiculous.

I heard Wenger being quizzed about this, he seemed to hint he had a good reason to do it. And he must have, he's not a fool, he's the 2nd most successful Manager in EPL history, behind only SAF.

Do you think he would have been better actually explaining it rather than hinting? Maybe the fans deserve an explanation?

Nope. It may have been something he (or Cech) wished to keep private. Discretion & all that.

It's my opinion, but it'd be tough to produce facts to say otherwise, over a 19 (?) year period.
Consistent thereaboutness, wonderful financial prudency (LIKE), built themselves a shiny new stadium (not rented or leased), good financial controls in place, not beholden to some Middle East zillionaire who might disappear in a puff of puffiness at any time.

Isn't that more to do with the club than Wenger.
Of course over a 19 year period because there's no one else but SAF so he's second out of 2.
I'd certainly argue a case for Jose being in front of him. More success in a shorter time frame.
I think Wenger has under achieved hugely in his tenure but that's just my opinion.

Arsenal have clearly been one of the most successful clubs in recent PL history.
Obv you ignore Chelsea and Man City since the oil money came in (these teams are in their own league of two and only in competition with each other) only Man Utd have done better than Arsenal. Last year Arsenal won their league of 18 teams, their best performance in years.
