Arsene Wenger to step down at the end of this season.

Welcome bigadz back today!

Probably delighted that they are no longer aiming to qualify for the Champion's League every season; what a drag that was.

Brendan Rodgers' price for the job is shortening alarmingly - perish the thought!

Time for the board to insert a younger man - Eddie Howe perhaps - who just happens to have my Ayrton @33/1 invested.

That's pretty funny..on a more general note..I wonder what the rationale is for announcing now rather than in a few weeks time..just signalling to other managers considering their future that we has a vacancy I guess.

Bet he gets a wonderful send-off by fans & other Managers alike in his last half a dozen or so games.

You'd hope so but there won't be many in the Emirates for his last home game against Burnley (although they are a biggest rivals these days) if we've been turfed out of Europe by Atleti

We agree on the first thought, for differing reasons I think.

Howe's only 5 years younger than Rodgers btw.

Rodgers nowhere near as bad as a lot think would be interesting

Thought this was a good tweet

Arsenal preparing for #Wenger departure with raft of appointments in last 12 mths. Made them less reliant on 1 man. New heads of:

⚽️ Performance
⚽️ Recruitment
⚽️ Academy (x2)
⚽️ Relations
⚽️ Contracts
⚽️ Sport science
⚽️ Nutrition
⚽️ GK

Done a lot of the background work already which suggests the new man is a coach rather than a manager (doesnt rule out many bar 'arry these days)

Ancelotti would be a massive no no for me, the Bayern dressing room basically downed tools for him and complained the training wasnt tough enough would be like Wenger slightly improved mark two.

Sorry I didn't make that clear - I meant younger than others who have been mooted for the job such as Rafa - not younger than brenda.

I wouldn't be too disappointed if Rafa did get the job but my Ayrton would.

Brenda might be a good coach but I don't rate him as a bloke and his style rankles - he also once said that AFC have no class.
