yeh, Wilson a decent shout, he's in pretty good form played a euro tour final against MVG and gave him a game start of the month, he's a little like Steve West in that he's got scoring power on form to compete with anyone but doubles are the weakness, he can go missing for a few legs on the scoring and he's a real momentum player. Whitlock tends to be fairly reliable when it comes to beating who he should beat and losing to who he should lose to, but at 6/4 + you gotta love tking him on with a guy who can turn the jets on and average 100+ effortlessly.  Format suits Whitlock though, he's hot and cold, neither have a really reliable double, Whitlock will start on D16 and Wilson D20 I imagine, I'd be happy at 6/4 wouldn't be wanting to go much lower.

Solid list, the Webster/Smith prices are real standout if you're actually able to bet that those are great bets! Big Hendo mostly 2-1 but i'd be loving taking gurney on right now and big john perfect guy. Only one i couldn't back in there is Kim, the 13/10 only available at Boyles and Spreadex which is pretty much the same as not being available, even at 13/10 though he's just playing so horrible right now and there's nothing I've seen from de Zwaan this year to say he shouldn't be a solid fave there, the only weakness I've ever really seen from JDZ was in last yrs grand slam where he crushed the group play but somehow let Scotty Dog Mitchell rattle him up and he blew it on the doubles despite blasting him out of the water.

Been umming and arring for a while now about the Wattimena King match, this year has seen Merv lose games he never usually loses, worries over his back, bit of chopping and changing his darts going on (UK open he used his new set and changed back mid match bizarrely) and not in great form, the format suits him because he's so consistent on the doubles and very reliable on D16. Wattimena having a great start to year and much improved, little dip in form of late though and he's quite a streaky guy....think I would fancy the 11/10 and probably swerve the 1/1.

Crafty 2-0 Evans bet, affecting betting against Barney over betting on Ricky, like the logic, price has gone so you must have been onto something! Sink or swim times for barney, if he doesn't have a run in the worlds, slam or grand prix then I just don't see how his PL place could possibly be justified.

big drift on webster just before the off, somewhat inexplicable really.

de Zwaan was so impressive, 99.7 average with the double in format is like 108~ in normal format, interesting to see how this "back problem" is gonna affect garry, he's drifted to 1.33 which I would make a bet not sure how much a short game like this will for the back but I remember him falling to pieces in the PL vs Smith when it hit him, also I think he struggled on T20 with his back like this which is a huge part of his game.

What do we think about James Wilson to beat Simon Whitlock @ 13/8? I really don't think there is too much between them. Wilson has slightly the better 3 dart average in 2018 although Whitlock has played a higher calibre of opponent which may have affected him negatively.

Go on the Jammy Dodger!

Good first round for the underdogs who shouldn't have been as big an underdog with this winning, Meulenkamp and Beaton. Shame about Ricky Evans @ 23/10 who looked in control before Barney's 164. And the less said about John Henderson the better.

Difficult to be convinced by RVB, I think lildave has alluded to that itt, Chizzy @ 5/4+ looks a fair wager this eve imo.

very nice Dr. Brent!

Yep, Chizzy has glimpses of his former self shining through ever more frequently of late, Barney is capable of switching the genius on at any moment with 0 notice, just as he is likely to shake his head and start throwing spanners from nowhere, the 164 was just pure class. This could be a great game 00 vs 100 average, it could be the worst game of the tournament, or one of them could just run it off 3-0. With that in mind I would sway naturally to the man who's the biggest price!

terrible last leg, aside from that a cracking game, Lewis on form is a joy to watch, if he can get back to his best then he's a live runner for any tournament and will be back in the top 10 in no time, and be amazing for darts, having MVG, Gary, Wright, Mensur, Cross and Lewis on top form would be great! Luckily for him he's got a 15 months of v little prize money to defend so he's got half a chance of something but NEEDS a run in a major if he's gonna have a sniff at a PL return, he's hugely entertaining so sky/pdc wont need much excuse to give him a wildcard.
