Things were looking a little dicey with Mountain Angel beaten a nose and a lot of other selections not troubling the judges, until we found the 28/1 (joint) winner of the Gold Cup Baron Bolt.

First bet of the day Startego 3.00 Brighton 8-1 P Power 7-1 general, on first run for Archie Watson. Should appreciate sounder surface on breeding. Favourite beaten in third from his last run on heavy has since won off 74.

5.45 Newcastle Galitello small e/w with W Hill 16-1 wouldn't want to take less than 14-1 . From small sample sire seems ok on surface and trainer has decent record 2nd time out.

2.25 Brighton StOuen 8-1 token bet , think I may have spent too long looking for a bet in this race, however trainer / jockey have good strike rate at course, likewise for trainer with 2 yo dropped several grades, Chonburi with similar profile and finish in 2nd Aug race at Goodwood won a class 5 next time out. Don't like that these stats perorm less well in Autumn.
