Paul Moss?

I always thought Paul had a right few quid.

then I was playing a tournament with hinm at the Vic. Monkey buyin maybe. And he had loads of chip with about 4 tables left.

And he started dwelling up on every damn hand, to a ridiculous extent. Just to make the money.

It was really strange as he a big chance of going really deep and exerting pressure with his stack. Instead he just wanted to guarantee a £750 payday.

Just checked, and to be fair to him it wasn't a £500 tournament it was £3000

http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/event.php?a=r&n=28634

Still, it was weird as he was absolutely no danger of getting knocked out he had like 3 x average when he started dwelling up.

Never wanted to be reminded of that tournament again!

Think I lasted 20 minutes Cheesy

I seem to vaguely remember this, it was the first GUKPT Grand Final. I think he may have been acting on the advice of his 'manager', the recently mentioned in this thread Malcolm Muskett, due to his tendency to blow huge chip stacks very quickly at this stage of tournaments.

Boom, well done Craig, that's him. The lad that was always with him - much younger, plump, balding, was his name Paul?

Anyway, you are correct, Pete Davis was the chap I had in mind.

Yes It was Paul Smart, I think Tal pointed it out earlier though. Also a very nice guy.
Those days at Junction 10 really were some of the best . Lots of great characters

The Vic the last few days was like a blast from the past.

I saw a huge amount players I hadn't seen for a long time varying from a year to 10+ years.

In no order I saw:

Eric Dalby
Frank Callaghan
Mike Mozouris
Peter Benson
Chufty
John Gale (he has been about recently I know - I just haven't seen him in years)
Dave Barnes
James Akenhead
Tony Kelly
Andrew Georgiou

Sure there were more. Will update if any more come to mind.

Any idea how old Eric is?

Must be north of 80, surely?

Not seen him in a while

That's the fella!

One of those overly friendly guys. Acted like he'd known you for years, but had only ever talked twice.

Probably fine, but never know how to deal with people like that.

Always got on well with Paul. I seem to recall he was a landlord with a decent property portfolio which ran into a bit of bother when the credit crunch hit. Hopefully that worked out alright in the end.
