The tories primary goal is to win elections and be in power, hence it was called when they were 15% ahead, they are now 3% behind, no chance they will call one now. They will just hang on until too many by-elections go the wrong way.

The best the tories can hope for is to stay in power and hope something comes up which means they can win the next one.

Every parties primary goal is to win elections and be in power....

I have never been sure that Jeremy Corbyn shares that view.

How can he implement policies if you don't win an election? It has to be the primary goal, everything else comes after that.....

Clearly, but I think Neeeko means that he feels Corbyn doesn't actually want the big job, he is far happier just telling everyone else how much better he WOULD/COULD do rather than be forced to actually deliver.

I am not sure Corbyn thinks he lost and his supporters are absolutely cocksure they have won.

Corbyn sticks with his CND and renationalisation of everything despite it polling badly, rather than ignoring it and playing up popular policies.

Corbyn backtracked on the bomb during the campaign and some of his renationalisation policies are popular.  I'd also suggest promising to give away loads of money to lots of people is going to be more popular than the dementia tax.

I don't know if you agree with this or not. However saying this is total speculation, and kind of absurd as well.
Did he realistically think he had a shot or being PM prior to the election, likely not.
Post election he is a man brimming with confidence and certainly so far isn't acting like someone who doesn't want the top job.

This didn't happen a lot of his rationalisation policies polled really well. A lot of people feel the public got ripped off with royal mail/railways.
Also Labour have not mentioned renationalisation of privitistation which have clearly worked such as telecom's.

Even without by-elections, they're potentially at risk of losing a no-confidence vote within the Commons at any time, so if the opposition (combined) sense that they can trigger this, then the timing is taken out of the Tory's hands.

The immediate hurdle is to get the Queen's speech passed, which is by no means certain at the moment without it effectively being watered down to contain very little of substance.

As long as you win the accompanying vote - does it matter what is in the QS, govts can ignore anything that is in it and add anything else they like.

What dire financial straits are these MPs that lost their seats in?

How is Theresa Palpatine going to help them out? With her dough?
