I kinda have an issue with soothsayers. All this speculation is based on the EU remaining a constant variable. With significant issues such as economy and immigration what is the guarantee there isn’t further fragmentation? I’ve seen enough countries change state in the last 20yrs to expect a changing EU landscape. My goodness the EU is fragmenting as we speak. If that point is accepted it undermines the current guesswork. And if we gonna dream about the future I like good dreams best pls.

It’s good to be questioning, at last but still, Dunning Kruger.

The cuckoo and the owls keep insisting on their higher logic but the response is always the same. Just constantly screaming "nonsense" again and again in various different guises. No substance in retort to valid points, no engagement, no concession of a single inch, just screaming "nonsense". I'm afraid this is the way of the left these days. Flying big orange baby balloons, wanker placards and screaming nonsense or simpleton in robotic format.

The facts are that the EU landscape is shifting before our very eyes. Thus any prediction based on the EU being a constant variable is the real nonsense on display here. The UK as a primary member is being sucked into the quicksand whilst Remain insist the union is built on rock.

The next fact is that just one minute ago Trump was on the telly box calling the EU a "foe" with intense negative rhetoric. The very next minute Juncker is emerging from the White House talking in positive terms about working towards a zero tariff trade agreement. By comparison the UK have been talking about our "friends in Europe" with intense positive rhetoric. Many months down the track we are no closer to achieving the same thing. The reason for this difference is the weakness in our position created by all the cuckoos and owls. So let's all salute their superior logic.

The final fact is that you could gather together all the nonsense from all the simpletons and it would be a speck of irrelevance on the illogical scale when compared to the advice to stockpile tinned fruit.

In my opinion and it is only my opinion but the owls and the cuckoos need to sail away together on a beautiful pea-green boat.

so we have some turmoil.

i didnt expect anything less.

it was only 10 years ago that there was a genuine world wide finanjcial crises and runs on UK high street banks.

i dont belive that post brexit will be anything of that maginitude, but even if it was to come to that, its a small price to pay for the principal of political independence and the ability to secure our borders.

sorry, but i'd vote leave again in an instant.

I'm trying to work out who the cuckoos and owls are. Is it anyone in the remain camp? Is it me, or Tighty?

Can one be both, or is it either or?

Constantly screaming.... Eh?

Owls - Very wise, so clever they need to say how stupid others are by comparison. Special power to predict the future with high degree of certainty. Doesn't work with lotto numbers. Strong after-timing skills. Potentially can be anybody.

Cuckoo - kuku. I'm no Sherlock Holmes but piecing the evidence together. A type of person positioned somewhere on the spectrum near Rain Man proportions. Sits at home with large quantities of alcohol hitting refresh before screaming nonsense, Dunning Kruger or who's on first base. Unique.

Hope that's cleared it up for you mate.

Perfectly.

I mistakenly thought you were referring to the average remainer, who I assume, apart from differing political opinions, is much the same as the average brexiteer.

I don’t tend to drink at home and I’ve never been diagnosed with autism, although I guess I’m closer to ‘the spectrum’ than most. it’s never been a problem. I do talk a lot about Dunning Kruger, it’s important though, it’s so healthy to constantly audit yourself against . Do I have the right to speak with authority about this? How did I earn that right? Those questions should be at the forefront of all of our minds, all of the time. You are indeed “no Sherlock Holmes” :-).

As for the Owls, I’m not convinced there’s much pointing out how stupid you are by comparison to anyone else, your words do just fine by themselves. It’s for people, including you, to judge for themselves anyway.

If you had been paying attention you would have noticed that the EU and US were already discussing a trade deal until Trump tore it up.  You would also have noticed that Trump and the EU haven't agreed anything other than to talk and in the interim no additional (illegal from the US side) tariffs.  Trump reported that the EU would buy more soybeans - although I can't see how they are to do this given that buying soybeans isn't in their remit (and if it was no doubt brexiters like you would be howling about undemocratic bean purchases).

To compare Trump and the EU pulling back from a mutually destructive trade war with progress in an actual agreement to disentangle years of co-operation and design the framework of the future relationship simply illustrates your gross ignorance.

So why is Trump bothering with his trade talks?

I must admit to not giving this any thought as a result of Brexit:

Brexit could lead to spread of infectious diseases such as super-gonorrhoea, health chief warns:

I must confess I did not.

So I put soya beans into Google.

And it brought up a picture of an owl.

I've been thinking about this and the reason lefties are so angry these days is because of population growth. We know their policies are noble and moral but generally work better in theory than in reality. As the population grows and pressure on resources intensifies people are becoming more selfish and they're losing their engagement with socialism. Considering the population is going to continue increasing socialism is basically toast. Remember Angela Merkel saying all refugees were welcome (very noble) until the reality hit home and borders were closed.

I also think it's why Trump was elected. He's the sort of guy who would elbow himself to the front of the queue at the dinner buffet. Very crass, very selfish, but still chowing down first. It's not how people should be but it's reality. I remember flying from New Zealand (where people were so pleasant to each other, after you sir, no no after you) to Hong Kong where it was dog eat dog with people pushing and shoving. Very stark and sobering contrast. Undoubtedly density of population changes attitudes and in an ideal world things would be different. Anyway, back to reality.
