Sorely needed - a poll which draws up a list of the things policy experts say would happen in "no deal Brexit" scenario and asks people how likely each would be to happen in event of no deal.

We really need a sense of what public knows (and doesn't) re: this

i was speaking to someone last week who thought no deal meant no change.

er.....

Brexit is like the python that swallowed an alligator – it can't handle the monster coming down its oesophagus

How Rees Mogg and ERG may have taken decisive step towards hard Brexit (and the reason is not what you think)

may says 70 "technical notices" for businesses and households will be published in Aug and Sept setting out how we can all prepare for a no-deal Brexit (should that be what happens). Yikes

one of the 70 notices is shortages, stockpiling and ration books....

quote

"PM reveals no deal preparations will visibly step up over next two months - 70 technical notices being sent out telling businesses and people how to prepare. Big sea change, Cabinet previously didn't want to scare the horses."

Honda at Swindon receives 2m components per day thanks to free movement of goods.

After a no deal Brexit, to store the minimum 9 days' worth of components on site, they would need to erect the 3rd-largest building on Earth: 300,000 sq m = 42 football pitches.

When asked by Marr about whether stories about plans to stockpile food for a “No Deal” were correct, Brexit Secretary Raab said it was an unhelpful  “selective snippet that’s made it into the press”... which suggests Yes

The Tories don’t want a hard border with Ireland, don’t want a border in the Irish Sea and don’t want to remain within the regulatory orbit of the EU. They have rejected all deals but a hard Brexit,

No deal would be an act of economic self-harm - but the Brexiteers are trying to normalise it.
