Once again you have produced a load of waffle to try and put some NeoNazi right wing tag on me, when all I asked was if we buy food from the States already?

Once again you haven't answered the question.......

I don't need to read the article to question if we don't already buy food from on of the biggest food producing nations in the world and therefore may already be getting rat poo in our food, as the previous poster suggested.

I don't think it is that straight forward, food imports to the EU must be in compliance with an EU regulation.   So rat poo chicken may be for domestic and non-EU consumption only.   I know the intention is to keep EU laws etc, but the intention is also to get a US trade deal...

So do the Remoaners truely think we will suddenly just drop our standards just to get a deal?

It would also mean the US have to acknowledge publically that they will lower their standards to us......

Seems highly unlikely to me....but then I believe any old guff apparently......

In leafy Hertfordshire we all shop at the local farm shop (strong pref for organic poo) and eat less to pay for it. This would be my advice to anyone contemplating buying processed foods in general. Really feel like I'm dispensing pearls sometimes

How times change.

Feb 2018: May says "a “new comprehensive …customs union”... would mean that we could not do our own trade deals and would actually betray the vote of the British people."

Now....

DUP telling Cabinet Ministers that they'd be prepared to risk a Corbyn government if that is what it took to prevent new barriers between NI & GB. Are they bluffing or being serious?

"the plan from the Labour leadership is to have the backbenches bear the brunt of any fallout from a Brexit vote in the House. "Propping up a Tory government", etc. when there is no realistic scenario that results in a general election"

"Corbyn's preferred outcome, short of an election and Labour govt, is to get Brexit without getting any of the blame for Brexit."

Thanks for this. Now please never contact me again.  Cheesy

Very good article.

Interesting 30 ish Labour MP's "might" help May....presume many hold seats in Leave areas?.

As was said on Sky tonight....the Irish problem could be solved if DUP , May and EU all took a little bit of pain. Could well be time for May to face down the DUP?

Only for the serious Brexit junkies!

Transcript of the "Brexit as a Revolution lecture" at Trinity College Cambridge, by Sir Mark Ivan Rogers, former UK Permanent Representative to the EU, is now available:

Mini Cabinet meeting this evening.

Laura K tonight on twitter

Ministers were not told explicitly tonight that No 10 is minded to accept the EU position of no time limit to get a deal, but sources suggest others WERE told that earlier today, so lots of nerves around - v hard to see how that would get thro Cabinet unscathed + Commons

A major motorway is being closed for more than a month in the run-up to Christmas to turn it into a lorry park - without consultation from the local community (or even their local MPs). The reason? No Deal preparations.

though if the MPs had read this thread they would have known about it months ago. Let that be a lesson to them
