I get one every year but I think your best to ring your GP surgery up and book an appointment .

I rang a couple of weeks ago and it’s 12th October for me.

Not sure that the NHS do the chasing .

Cheers all.  Guess I'll try and book it tomorrow then.

Next question.  I booked my flu vaccine for the 17th October, but when I rang they said I was eligible for the pnuemonia vaccine too.  It bamboozled me so much that I didn't take them up on that bit.  As soon as I put the phone down, I regretted it, as I definitely don't want that either.

Do other people get offered that, as it just a select few?  I think it might have something to do with sleep apnoea, but am not entirely sure.

Nope, wasn't aware it was ready until now.   Will have a look later.

My wife was aware of it because her school was involved in discussions of how best to manage it in schools.

We were both a bit surprised that there wasn't more publicity to the launch.

I thought that maybe they were going for a soft launch to avoid servers getting overloaded - but most (maybe all) the processing is done on the phone itself and I think it would be pretty ambitious to think they would suddenly get several million people downloading at launch whatever they did for publicity. So all in all still a bit confusing why it hasn't had a bit more marketing.

Now in two minds whether to download it or not.
If it told me to isolate I don't think I would as I doubt it is a very reliable system.
It works on Bluetooth and I would assume most people don't have their Bluetooth on all day anyway?
So if I am not going to follow the notifications whats the point?

I downloaded it. I never run my Bluetooth but it has to be on for the app to work, so I have. I'll keep an eye on my battery compared to my regular use and see if it drains more.

For disclosure, I have a Samsung S10. YMMV on other phone models. If you have a Huawei phone dont even bother downloading it, it will not work as Google/Apple (who own the technology used, which is what made me slightly less anxious about privacy) refuse to let it work on Huawei models.
