I understand what you are saying about announcing your hand even if players are all in - I dont usually - but because it was so trashy compared to the others and it had been a standing joke all night about the 6 7 I didn't think it was inappropriate -but an interesting point of view which has its merits.

However, even if it was the wrong thing to do I dont think I deserved the comment. If that was what had cheesed him off (and he thought I was disappointed because he won the hand until I explained it to him)then he could have voiced his opinion in another way.

I am happy that others are in agreement it wasn't appropriate, I dont like to be seen as a sensitive woman at the tables!

Thanks for your comments guys - I'm definitely going to ask any player to repeat it if it happens again!

Im not playing anything down. announcing your cards isnt even in the same ball park and, if you check my first post you'll see I think he should be disqualified for his behaviour.

if he's irritated by traceys actions he's entitled to tell her to shut up but speaking to her as he did is completely unacceptable and I never said anything to the contrary

You did nothing wrong Tracey.

I agree you need to make more of it if it ever happens again, I'm also surprised no-one at the table said anything, was this guy built like The Rock?

From his actions to other players it is clear this guy is a dick, I would hope that any card club or casino would ban someone like this sooner rather than later, from his constant bad attitude, it seems he has been allowed to get away with it in otther places for far too long.

bang out of order IMO.  I'd also be interested to know how the other players at the table reacted.  If I'd witnessed it, I'd have reported it myself.

Nobody under any circumstances has to put up with that sot of behavier,if it happens again, you must stop the game, call over the TD,and the manager if required.
Then you must demand, that this unplesent oaf,get asked to leave the cardroom.
(this covers the option that the room has if he's a tables player).
If they are not in agreement with you, you then should, with the aid of the others on the table, ask for your entry fee back, and walk away.
Because your game will have been adversly affected my his rudenesss.

PS. these cretins are everywhare in life,do'nt let them overwhelme you.

That was the really wierd thing - it was if he hadn't said it - there was loads of discussion going on after the last card was shown and everyone was gaily chatting to their neighbours and i think that was why I didn't react at the time - because it only seemed to be me that had been offended by it/or heard it - although he wasn't exactly quiet!  And yes - he was a large guy and intimidating and he had been drinking so i guess I thought it better to keep my head down.

It took me a bit of time to register it and get upset! I have to say if anyone wants to upset me just shout at me - doesn't matter what you say - its the raised voice that really gets to me......just remember that when you're at my table!

Two cans of gas lighter fluid rammed up his exhaust pipe should work great in a spot like this.

It's very difficult to say something about an incident like this without yourself getting angry.

Losing your rag is usually promptly followed by losing your chips, that's this guys game.

For this reason, you have to sometimes just ignore stuff like this. It's sad, but poker and chivarly don't really mix.

Any other situation where you have 9 chaps who don't really know each other, and one calls a woman a fat c**t, you can usually count on one of them to speak up.
This ain't the case at the poker table and is perhaps an indirect factor as to why more women don't play.

I'm ashamed to say that I would be unlikely to spontaneously react to such a comment at the felt. I'd certainly be unable to do so without getting heated.

I dont know - I haven't seen any results. I'm not naming - the guy hasn't had the chance to defend his actions and I believe that everyone should have that chance, I just wanted to know that it would have been ok for me to demand some action over this.

I mean - in card rooms there is swearing all the time - it's just the degree I wasn't sure about.
