I think thats why the WSOP go with the blanket F bomb penalty.

It's hard to rule on such a thing consistently.

I have to say the TD was great and told me I should have called them immediately - my own fault - they have ways of dealing with it and he would have been warned immediately. But it was a bit like being in a car crash - it's not until afterwards that the shock sets in and you think -WHAT?

I'm also surprised no-one at the table said anything?

It's very difficult to say something about an incident like this without yourself getting angry.

Losing your rag is usually promptly followed by losing your chips, that's this guys game.

For this reason, you have to sometimes just ignore stuff like this. It's sad, but poker and chivarly don't really mix.

Any other situation where you have 9 chaps who don't really know each other, and one calls a woman a fat c**t, you can usually count on one of them to speak up.
This ain't the case at the poker table and is perhaps an indirect factor as to why more women don't play.

I'm ashamed to say that I would be unlikely to spontaneously react to such a comment at the felt. I'd certainly be unable to do so without getting heated.

Hi Trace,

First, imho you did nothing wrong.

Second, please don't worry about being too sensitive, God help us all when there are no sensitive women left

Third, the next time YOU think someone is being abusive, ask the dealer to inform the TD, never mind what anyone else thinks

Forth, put it behind you, and rest assured that one day soon, he will upset the wrong person

I think it might be me - I'm always a bit behind (with my cards and emotions) and now I'm angry.

I was tempted as I left on Monday to buy him a bar of soap and give it to him in front of the other players so he could wash his mouth out - but it seemed a bit girly.......I want to be on his table next time  I can't wait!!

Perhaps a tad chauvanistic, I know women don't need men to protect them.

While that is true, it's also true that many women still like to take advantage of their femininity and the priviliges it grants them.

Why not, you're all princesses and deserve a little lookin' after.

It's sad, but poker and chivarly don't really mix.

Its not chivalry, its common decency and it does have a place in poker.     Players get heated and call TDs over about almost everything at the table and if people can argue the toss when dividing up a multi-way pot they can sure as hell tell a bloke who is out of order to shut it, or call over the TD to do it for them.

I suspect if the guy was <11 stone a few more people would have heard it.

Weird, we are having simultaneous arguments here.....!

There is a lot of innuendo in this thread, & we don't allow flaming on blonde.

But the incident was reported to me by 6 or 7 different peeps, & was presumably overheard by those at the table.

It's either true, or it's not. If it's untrue, several people owe an apology to the accused. If it''s true, the accused needs to apologise for a comment which, albeit said whilst (I'm told) drunk, is completely out of order.

As everyone can work out who the accused is, me may as well say who it as - Luke Patten.

Luke is more than welcome to come on here & defend his actions, refute them, or apologise.

I was not present when the alleged incident took place, but it would appear that everyone in the Casino was aware of it. I have no idea how many peeps heard it first hand.

But I do know it was one of the most weird Finals I have ever witnessed. Not a word was spoken to Luke by any of the Finalists & there was a disticnct "atmo".

We need to eradicate improper conduct in Poker.

If Luke is innocent, he is more than welcome to defend himself on blonde, & I wil happily apologise for naming him. But everyone is alluding to Luke - "the winner", "large bloke" etc,  - let's stop beating about the bush. I know we don't normally get personal on blonde, but I see this as a very special case. DingDell is furniture on blonde, very much one of us, & if she's been treated so badly, I think we, the blondes, need to support her.

As an aside, the word in the Casino on Sunday evenng was that we would all club together & buy Vinni in for the next Tourney that Luke plays, & see what happens when Vinni gets some of that treatment......!

Is that the same Luke Patton that played Rugby League?

He's a big lad.

this guy was bang out of order, i thnk thats been established.

but this just isnt the same as if you saw a girl getting hassled in a pub or other public place.

people get away with murder with what they say and do in the name of poker.

tony g at the final table of the french ept i think absoloutly ruined all the other guys.

he said some very near the mark things but always said to the exiting players" all i was saying was in poker, no disrespect meant"

the very learned jonny vegas said theres no place for a man with morals in poker.

i'm not saying what the guy said was ok but i can understand why knowone at the table intervined.
