Start of the Irish Derby tonight. Couple of bets for me.
20:40 T5 Slippy Cian 2.25 with Fred probably goes off evens. Got the speed to beat Rafa in T4 out the traps and to the bend. Should hold T6. Leads and wins. 2pts win.
21:40 T1 Ballymac Bolger 2.25 with Fred, has had a comeback run last week after being off the track since Feb. A few months ago was 16/1 fav for the Derby (now 40/1 best price with Fred) looks like it needs T1 and should come on for its comeback run. Should be far to good for these. 2pts win.
Also 4pts double with Fred @5.0 and 2 pts ew @ 40/1 outright with Fred on Bolger.
If these come in I may do Droopys Neymar in the lucky last, currently 3.5 in a few places, up and com8ng young speedster for Pat Buckley, think we can take on the fav in T2 at the prices who will probably start odds on.
If anyone wants to watch these will probably be on WH dog TV I think.
Beautiful run by Slippy Cian, happened as expected. Didn't get the sp but gonna be a big danager in this comp. Nice start.

Bolger 2nd, no excuses, was leading to 2nd last bend. expect him to win from there, maybe not fit enough yet.
Ive had 2pts on Neymar @ 3.5

From RP Jim Cremin:
DROOPYs VERVE made an excellent start to his bid for the BoyleSports Irish Derby when the ante-post favourite ran away with heat nine of the 550 yards Classic at Shelbourne on Friday night.
Trained by Angela Harrison at Newcastle, the Star Sports English Derby runner-up looked the part when scoring by over ten lengths in 29.49sec
Whoops Jack, also a Towcester Derby finalist for Peter Cronin, similarly dominated heat eight when drawing clear for a seven lengths romp in 29.56sec
Graham Holland notched an impressive four-timer. In early heats, shown via SIS in some betting shops, his Clona Blaze (29.79sec), Slippy Cian (joint-fastest 29.49sec) and Totos Park (29.71sec) did the business. Then, in Friday’s last heat, Holland’s Blue East, owned by Larry O’Rourke, blasted clear too (29.85sec).
Heat one went to Henry Kelly’s Karlow Eddie (29.74sec) in an 8-1 turn-up.
Pat Buckley notched a double via Uncut Diamond (29.90sec) and Droopys Floral (29.91sec).
Michael O’Donovan’s Stonepark Noel (29.61sec) took over at the third bend from Ballymac Bolger in heat seven.
The opening round concludes on Saturday night.
JUNE HARVEY’s Ower Boy Bullet made it five wins from six starts when quickly taking control of heat two of the 575m Coral Champion Stakes at Romford on Friday night, kicking on at the first bend after Jasper Avenue had led.
Bombers Bullet was held up several times in running here but safely took second, beaten nearly five lengths by the 35.10sec winner
Clash make it a quick double for team Harvey in heat three, where he was soon clear in a fastest of the night 35.08sec
John Mullins’ Swift Tarquin gamely battled to victory in the opening heat. Despite a fifth bend baulk, he came through to pick up favourite Droopys Judge by a neck (35.85sec) on the run in after the latter had edged ahead after the trouble. Ballymac Ina, having set the early pace, was a further half length third.
Saleen Ash made all for Mark Wallis in heat four (35.12sec). Derek Knight’s Shotgun Bullet (35.52sec) took command at the third bend in heat five while the concluding heat went to Heather Dimmock’s Kanturk Repeat (35.33sec), who led at the first before powering away from the fifth.
The semis are Friday with the £10,000 decider a week later.
Draw: 1st semi 1 Droopys Who 2 Romeo Mandate 3 Shotgun Bullet (m) 4 Mays Cucard (m) 5 Droopws Judge (m) 6 Saleen Ash (w)
2nd semi 1 Bombers Bullet 2 Ballymac Ina (m) 3 Clash (m) 4 Jasper Avenue (m) 5 Westway Turk (w) 6 Thor Tagg (w)
3rd semi 1 Swift Tarquin 2 Slick Spinx (m) 3 Kanturk Repeat (m) 4 Aghadown Brae (m) 5 Vinegarhill Ruby (w) 6 Ower Boy Bullet (w)

I don’t know how to copy and paste from twitter so I’ve retweeted all of the 1st round heats. Verve, Cian and Whoops Jack look very impressive.

Just two bets for me tonight.
Droopys Expert @ 2.37 (11/8) with 365 in 20:12, price is too high, not as good/consistent as Verve and is up against a fancy of mine in Clonbrien Hero but I think with the rails and a fast start he should be fine. Not gonna predict the price after Expert going off Evens but happy with the price. 6 pts win
Jaytee Taylor @ 4.5 (7/2) with Fred in 22:27, Hennessy brought this youngster over to English Derby and ran a good few rounds before bein* knocked out. Had fav on inside in T5 but if he can trap faster and make corner in front I think we will be live, bit more match fitter than the fav who has returned after a long lay off. 4 pts win.

I’ll stick the vids up later. Have retweeted them. Expert had trouble at first bend, qualified but Clonbrien Hero won well. Taylor went whoosh and hacked up so a nice winner there.
Highlight of the night was Lenson Blinder doing 29:40 fastest of the 1 st round and Magical Bale doing 29:49 same as Verve and Cian. Round two draw has been done and I’ve retweeted. All antepost bets are through. Will post times and there race# later. Solid first round with some fantastic performances. This has got to be one of the hottest Derby’s for years.

8:42 Monmore tonight is a race you do not want to miss if you like the daawgs, Top draw with King Turbo and Elvis and Brinkleys Poet. For me I think Elvis has been running very good and initially was fav but Turbo was always gonna end up shortening as clearly the quickes5 if he gets it right, in his last final he didn’t, neither did Elvis. That bein* said I think Elvis has a super chance in t5 and on the inside of Poet who will not relish T6, however for me (we know I think a lot of this dog) the 9/2 with Fred is an insult. I “fancy” Elvis tonight but I’m punishing Fred. I’ve had 6pts at 9/2 on Brinkleys Poet.
Even if you do not bet you must try and watch the race.

Verve edged out Borna Gin in Dundalk last night, haven’t see the race yet but photo was extremely close. Verve confirmed as going to Irish Derby, be lucky to get 20/1 when they put him in the betting. Anything bigger and we are dancing in the streets.
20/1 for Verve for Irish Derby with 365 and Boyles, cant really see anyone going any bigger. A few Irish dog men seem to think he will like Shelbourne. Im happy to play at this price. 10 pts ew.
Bets so far for Irish Derby (With a view of going to Shelbourne for the final)
Droopy's Verve 20/1 10 pts ew 1-6 1/4
Clonbrien Hero 33/1 6 pts ew 1-6 1/4
https://youtu.be/bi3f5lwpF0U
This is Magical Logan winning on its Shelbourne debut, thought we would be lucky to get more than 20/1 after this display. Coral and boyles Have obliged with 25/1, added to the team.
Magical Logan 25/1 4pts ew 1-6 1/4
Saw a Derby trail for Slippy Cian on Twitter (as mentioned earlier) can’t copy it here as can’t find it on YouTube. Decent run. Have added it to the team 4pts ew @ 25/1.
Verve put in another decent trail a few days ago, sub 28secs. Most books have cut him again. Will probably go off sub 14/1. I may have another 8 pts ew if I can get the 16/1. Will confirm later.
I couldn’t get the 16/1 on Verve so left it, best now 12/1.
Anyway after watching a few races and reading a few articles I’ve had my biggest bet on Lenson Blinder 20/1 with BV only 15 pts ew. I’d already missed the 33/1 that 365 opened and was gutted, thought we wouldn’t see anything bigger than 16/1 so when Vic reopened after the draw I was excited to get 20/1. We know that Lenny Ponder bought the dog initially for the English Derby and for a dog that ha£ never seen Towcester he didn’t disgrace himself. Has run some great races round Shelbourne and with Slippy Cian (Litter bro) is Holland’s Main Derby hope.
I’ll try and find some videos of his runs and stick them up. That’s it for the ante post team. Starts Friday.
I’ve added Stonepark Noel at 40/1 4pts ew 1/4 1-6
https://youtu.be/rfmAVMzb_EA
29:61 after stumbling out of the traps and having some decent back straight speed. We know he has the pedigree as he is from Laughill Blake a previous Irish Derby Champion.
Could be the one to upset the top of them betting.
Loved the run Cash is King done in the 1st round as well will keep an eye out in round two.
