Poker Forums / The Rail / Poker in Glasgow - Structure.....
|

After some whinging from myself & some others, Cincinatti's has agreed to run a tournament the way we want (except for 1 rebuy - I'd have a freezeout). So we're suggesting:
===========================================
Thurs 8th of Sept.
£15 No Limit, One Rebuy/Top-up Only in 1st hour.
Start 8:00pm Sharp.
3000 in Chips starting.
Blinds: 50/100 for 1 hour then 20 Mins each of: 100/200 150/300 200/400 300/600 400/800 600/1200 800/1600 1000/2000 etc.
Payout structure (to 8 man final table), payouts will be adjusted to nearest £5:
30% 20% 15% 11% 9% 7% 5% 3% ========================================
We need at least 30 players to get this on, so any Glasgow based punters please indicate on here if you intend to play. Who knows maybe if they see a game end without a deal there will be more flat structure games?
Ironsides/Tikay - I'm not sure if this is in the right area of the forum, but it's where the complaining about payouts/structures etc is taking place, feel free to move it if you want.

Cannot believe the obvious three twins (err that's a bit Irish) haven't been included.... John Aldridge, ian Rush and of course Ned Flanders ..okily dokily
Flanders has been posted, I think you're insulting Red Dog's nose if you include those 2, not his trained balancing slug

Could all you oldens stop with the street talk?
Shuttit, befo I pop a cap in yo ass Heard a goth kid shout to a kid he was arguing with 'Come down here and act hard again I'll pop a cap in yo ass, biatch'. Kind of ruined his effect when I cracked up laughing and told him 'your voice needs to have broken & you need a yank, not a Kelvinside accent for that kind of line' (for the unfortunates south of the border, Kelvinside's a posh suburb of Glasgow & they speak a bit posh).

Full details of the Stanley comp are on my blog (I think they where also on blonde last week sometime)
I'll hopefully get more information from Michelle tonight - but it's bingo night so she may be a bit busy. As far as I know its going in the next Poker Europa issue in the schedule section, but as usual they've left it a little late.
Mikky - I'll be in for bingo night (good name ) . Look for the familly sized Rico Annoni.

Re religion thats the most sensible thing you've said. Its got nothing to do with it for the vast majority & definately not for the Tims I know on this board. Anyone else see the complete and total ignorance of irony in that post.... Nope, I know muslim, christian & athiest Tims.

As a non-Londoner, which is the nearest tube station to it?
Barbican is closest and u cant get lost. Out of the station, turn left. Walk upto the main junction (where the lights are) turn left again and the club is on your right 100 yards down, takes all of 5 mins at a saunter. From the Gutshot forum...

I have only just read this thread (how did I miss it?) and find a couple of points quite disturbing. Firstly you should never deal without the first place man giving up some money, if you aren't confident of turning round a chip defecit the you shouldn't be playing. You are guaranteed a nice profit anyway so take your shot at a big payday. Strange things can happen at the end of tournaments- Gary Bush once lost heads up after having a 74-1 chip lead (it was a big tournament and a lot of money was involved). The most disgusting part of the thread is the suggestion that 2 players collude to try and gang up on the player. Its amazing whats said in gents toilets?? If this suggestion was made to me anywhere I would tell the person he is a lowlife cheat and never associate with him again. Many people who play the circuit swap percentages with each other- does that mean we soft play each other? It certainly does not. Any suggestion of soft play/collusion should be dealt with immediately by the card room manager/tournament director. This year I have knocked many good friends out of competitions (probably cost myself money in some people eyes because of loss of percentages) but that is the nature of the game. If you bump heads with me in a comp I dont care wether we have traded 5% 10% 50% or whatever I will still take you out at the first opportunity and blondites will vouch for this, anything less would ammount to cheating and thats something no ammount of money would make me do. End of rant. Rant over.
We'll need to write off letting the chip leader away with the full prize to experience.... Newbies & learning. Also from my posts above : Re ganging up on the chip leader, Teacake & I are too competitive to help eachother (as witnessed by his slowplaying a straight to me in the early stages & causing a buy-in ). Also I agree it would be cheating & I'm pretty sure it would have stuck out like a sore thumb.
It's not something we'd a) do b) want to be party to. We actually commented earlier about being a bit worried how everyone seemed to know eachother (I was sitting next to 2 brothers) & we both were concerned about it. But they all played hard against everyone & we were delighted with that. The point of playing (for me anyway) is that I enjoy the game - cheating would take the fun out of it.

Down to Londinium on Thursday next week for a couple of meetings. Got a few questions about the Gutshot. - Where is it?
- Do you have to be a member?
- If yes can you join & then play on the same night, or is it like a casino (24 hours later)?
- What games are on on a Thurday night?
Cheers in advance (if for nothing more than it'll give me an excuse to ditch the boss, a night drinking with him & I'll be up for murder or sacked!!))
