I actually like Babel i really dont think he's had a long enough run in his Best position which is up front.

Talented undoubtedly, but simply not good enough for us.  Attitude is wrong, his application is wrong, and even though the natural talent is there he will never make it at Liverpool.  No point keeping him.

I just feel Rafa doesnt really fancy him and therefore not getting a fair crack of the whip. I mean picking Voronin ahead of him and N'gog (ok ngogs done ok but he aint better than babel) He should be playing up frot instead of Kuyt at least he gives us a goal threat. But meh its all opinions.

I disagree about N'Gog.  I think he's a better player and has bags more potential than Babel.

Voronin is meh though, on that I agree.

You'd still be wrong.  If you were Babel you'd have the opportunity to slap me, but would try and beat three players before making completely the wrong decision and end up slapping yourself.

Patrik Berger forced to hang up his boots as knee problems get the better of ex-Liverpool star

Former Liverpool midfielder Patrik Berger has retired from football at the age of 36 due to persistent knee problems.

Berger, who spent seven years at Anfield before moving on to Portsmouth and Aston Villa, signed a two-year contract with Sparta Prague in May 2008 but injury has forced him to hang up his boots.

Sparta coach Jozef Chovanec said: 'Patrik told me yesterday, "It's over. My knee doesn't support the burden anymore."

We have to deal with it. Thank you Patrik for everything you have done for Sparta and the entire Czech football.'
Berger, who also had a loan spell at Stoke during an 11-year spell in England, has not been able to make an appearance for Sparta since August 8.

The Czech international won 44 caps and was a key part of the team which reached the Euro 96 final, where they lost 2-1 to Germany.

Berger scored a penalty to put the Czechs in front in the final, before two Oliver Bierhoff goals won the match for Germany

I remember getting Berger on the back of my jersey back in the day and i was delighted even though they werent even the real PL letters. Hammer like left peg rarely scored anything other than a thunderbolt,Ledge.

8mil turned down for Babel. I think he's better than Liverpool and Rafa make him look but surprised 8mil wasn't enough for how little he plays.

http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2010/01/04/1725439/exclusive-jan-molby-blames-sulking-steven-gerrard-for

I think Big Jan's talking a lot of sense in this article.

Quote
Speaking through the Liverpool Supporters Club New York and their MP Red podcast, the Dane - who made nearly 500 appearances for the club between 1984 and 1996 - asked questions over skipper Gerrard's form, accusing the 29-year-old of "sulking" during the Reds' tumultuous start to the season.

"Gerrard has not been 100 per cent this season with his injury," said Molby.

"And it begs the question: 'what are we looking to achieve with him?'

"Yes he has been restricted by his injury, but to me it seems he has also had a bit of a sulk on this season. He looks heavy legged, there isn't really that spring in his step this season so far and the team has suffered."

Yet despite Gerrard's lack-of-form this term, and mischievous reports linking him away from Liverpool, Molby believes that the 29-year-old will remain a Red for the rest of his career.

"Steven Gerrard is a Liverpool player, there is nowhere else for him to play," he added.

"I'm not sure what it would mean for him to lift the [Premier League] title with another club. He wants to win the title with Liverpool but, if not, I have a feeling he could live without it."

He sulks without Torres on the pitch for sure. I'm 90% sure he is carrying an injury though.

LOL!!!

I'm with Kin on this one.

I like the guy but after his impressive first season he's just not been good enough.

Its weird how opinion is divided amongst so many Liverpool fans regarding Babel. I have quiet a few m8s and we all think he's not been given a fair enough chance and there's the guys who are in your camp who think get rid of him and snap up the 8 mil being offered!
