I'll back you up Maldini, i would like to see Babel given a run up front , a few games in a row and if he didnt play well then I'd be shipping him out. If were being honest could he really have contributed much less on the wing instead of Kuyt this season?

I actually like Babel i really dont think he's had a long enough run in his Best position which is up front.
Talented undoubtedly, but simply not good enough for us. Attitude is wrong, his application is wrong, and even though the natural talent is there he will never make it at Liverpool. No point keeping him.
I just feel Rafa doesnt really fancy him and therefore not getting a fair crack of the whip. I mean picking Voronin ahead of him and N'gog (ok ngogs done ok but he aint better than babel) He should be playing up frot instead of Kuyt at least he gives us a goal threat. But meh its all opinions.
I disagree about N'Gog. I think he's a better player and has bags more potential than Babel.
Voronin is meh though, on that I agree.
I whole heartedly disagree with that comment and to prove it if you were sat next to me i would slap you.
You'd still be wrong. If you were Babel you'd have the opportunity to slap me, but would try and beat three players before making completely the wrong decision and end up slapping yourself.
LOL!!!
I'm with Kin on this one.
I like the guy but after his impressive first season he's just not been good enough.
Its weird how opinion is divided amongst so many Liverpool fans regarding Babel. I have quiet a few m8s and we all think he's not been given a fair enough chance and there's the guys who are in your camp who think get rid of him and snap up the 8 mil being offered!
I am a big fan dont get me wrong. But he's the wrong side of 23 now so "potential" no longer applies to him imo.

Thought I heard Andy Gray (of all people) say Kuyt and Benayoun were staistically the two most productive wide midfielders in the EPL this season with 5 a piece.

Stats schmats! I'm not a Kuyt hater at all, he just seems to be giving it away an awful lot lately ball is just bouncing off him, and with him and benayoun playing the wings theres a severe lack of pace there, it would be nice to have pace on one side at least and i prefer Benayoun of the two , we are missing Riera too i think when we played our best stuff last season Riera was at the hub of it.Although Riera isnt brill or anything it was just the fact that he hugged the sideline and had pace that helped our formation.

8mil turned down for Babel. I think he's better than Liverpool and Rafa make him look but surprised 8mil wasn't enough for how little he plays.
Yeah amazing turning that down!
Birmingham have money burning a hole in their pockets and a manager for whom such money is a novelty.
He would also be a huge marquee signing for Birmingham,so while he might not be worth more,Liverpool and Rafa are probably right in thinking that Birmingham will be willing to pay more.

Agree. The stats do hide how badly those two are playing at the moment.

If we get an offer of ten or more we should do the ol' champ man jobbie - 2 weeks for for 'no reason' to leave him feeling as though we're forcing him out of the club!

Wow - Kuyt has 3 or 4 average games and is suddenly worse than Babel (I know you're not saying that Aaron).
Kuyt has been Mr Dependable for the past few seasons, and when Liverpool go on a bad run it's suddenly all his fault. When we do well, it's never down to him. When Riera was mentioned as a loss, it's so very true in more ways than one. With him on the right offering width, the attack down the right seems to work a lot better. Rafa stated this as much when he brought Riera in.
If you think Babel divides Liverpool fans, he has nothing on Kuyt. I really can't understand what game they watch, and they most certainly don't watch live. Kuyt is immense. Oh and please, even jesting that Babel could offer anything on the right in the way Kuyt does is ridiculous.

08.01 Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin is discussing a cancellation of his Anfield contract, but will not be returning to Hertha Berlin, according to the Ukraine international's agent.
