Talking of TV amateurs - specifically GreekBoy on that occasion - apparently I managed to mince the commentary of a big "Top of the Pots" hand on Saturday's Live Show.

I gave it the shouty-wouty "yes, YES, he's housed up on the River" stuff. He had 2 pair, which I now realise is not quite the same thing.

I now fully expect to find ouit what this crucifixion thing is like.

Meanwhile, in the "Total Player win a Vegas package" thing, blondes Nutter5932, Dantb10 & lJamesL are down to the last 9, well done them. But there's only one package......

Keep going lads, keep going.

I guess I'm the only one who really felt for Tiger in that Press Conf fiasco thing.

He looked & sounded like a totally broken & humbled man to me, & I felt for him. He's messed up, yes, we all have sometimes, but what must he be feeling at how badly he's messed up & how it's all turned out? But I always was a soft touch for a sob story I suppose. I just wanna see him play golf, especially in the Majors.

Parallel with Tiger's conference thing, the ex-porn-star Miss Daniels, keeping a low-profile, held a parallel press conference, & left jaws sagging at her "I would be open to an apology from him". I bet she would. He forced her into it, of course.

Overall, Tiger's tale at the rostrum achieved nothing much, in fact it seems to have made a bad situation worse. Those bastions of decent morals, the  press & TV waffflers, absolutely slaughtered him, they've really gone to town on him big style. I suppose it keeps the heat off Ashley Cole.

I just wanna see him play golf, so I suppose my views are simplistic, like Wormy's nephew really.

If anyone was into predictions, could they ever have predicted how Tiger's world could wholly implode so quickly & in such an unexpected way? His job, his career, his marriage, simultaneously shattered. There is a moral there somewhere, but I doubt many will see it.

And I still can't get my head round how he was doing these things left right & centre & nobody suspected it, rumoured it, not a whisper, anywhere. How was that possible?

Some tale that.

When they get down to the last three players - one from each "Team" - it goes to a vote of all players on the Site.

To get there, they are going through a series of challenges, they are obliged to play a mixture of Cash, SNG's, MTT's etc with a Bankroll provided by the site. This week the added ingredient is a SNG Round-Robin, the first was last night & young Nutter5932 won that.

The 9 will be whittled down to 6 this Saturday, then 3, then the Voting starts.

Hansa Poker, another i-Poker skin, got "closed down" I gather. The cull of i-Poker skins gathers momentum, quietly.

Author? Sol Campbell, ex Notts County defender, in a sick-bag type piece which was a disgrace to Saturday's Times.

And it had a FOUR MILLION guarantee? And made 7 million?

It that were Misrosoft or Intel, the EC "anti-competitive" gang would be on their case, with their "it's not fair on the others, you are too good" whingeing.

Stunning how that site has grown into what it is, & so quickly.

I wonder if a Tiger-style implosion of their business could ever happen?

The Tiger Woods "story behind the story" gets more & more intriguing.

The Press Conference - taking place now I believe - is bizarrely timed to coincide with the Accenture Tourney. That'd be Accenture, who abandoned their sponsorship of him when it all kicked off.

And some Press Conference. "Invited" friends & colleagues only, & no questions from the floor!

I'm trying to stay onside with a sporting hero here, but he's not making it easy.

I feel exactly as I did when Piggott got sent down. I want to make excuses for my fallen hero, but their "damage limitation" skills seem to need a bit of honing.

There are pros & cons of course, & we'll never know the full story. Simply, I just thought watching Woods play golf - or Piggott ride a waiting race - was a thing of beauty.

I fancy there are more twists & turns yet in the Tiger tale.

another piggot fan here. i am too young (un) fortunately so only saw the tail end of his first stint in the saddle. coming back to win on Royal Acadamy though was just sensational. I also cheered like a loony when he won the guineas on Rodrigo de Triano. (not just because i had a few bob on it)

I think I first became aware of LP in the late sixties, when he won The Derby on "Sir Ivor".

He pioneered the modern way of riding with uber-short stirrups, & had an uncanny knack of getting a horse to run for him. He won race after race unextended, the horse never knew it had been in a race (see John Cherry, Chester Vase), but when the horse needed a bit of encouragement (a'la The Minstrel, in that famous Derby), he near as damn lifted the horse over the line.

And then he went & got himself sent to Prison.

That Royal Academy comeback though - what an occasion!

I would imagine that he is astonishingly wealthy, as jockeys of Classic winners usually get given a few shares.

Trivia Piggott question.

He rode a famous horse (but not to all the victories) that won 6 or 7 Grade One & Two races, two of which were in France. The owner, a very famous man indeed, was seen in a photograph in Tom's Diary, on this Forum, a year or so back. The owner was sat on Tom's sofa, in his mobile, sipping tea.  Name the horse & the owner.

It's an Iron-Farce type RSQ question, but you never know. Even Gatters won't get it. Nor will Tighty.

thats a really tough one. he rode over 400 group race winners, so trying to pick it out from that would be impossible.

Some tale that.

All our actions have consequences. What would have led him to think that sleeping with women other than his wife would be ok? His belief that he would get away with it? As one of the most recognisable figures around I'm surprised he's managed to get away with so many women over such a long period of time.

No doubt like Ashley Cole, John Terry and Bill Clinton his close aides were aware but please, for goodness sake, none of them could ever have thought they would never be found out? So why do it? Shows complete lack of respect, love and regard for their wives, and imo they deserve everything they get.

Bring back morals, fidelity and family imo. Don't feel sorry for him Tikay - everyone is allowed to make a mistake for sure - but this wasn't a drunken one off which would have been bad enough - this is a series of affairs where he planned the liasons and paid women to keep silent.

Just don't get me started!

Exactly.

Tiger has only to explain himself to his wife and anyone involved.

Why should he have to stand up infront of the whole world and make an embarrassment of himself?
