How's the knee?  You've not mentioned it yet today.

Kept me awake half the night, & it's sort of spread up to my thigh now, too.

It's MUCH worse than Tom's back.

Ah but as Red says you have another knee.

Once his back has gone its gone!.

You can hop can't you?

Yeah, but in both cases there are simple steps, like visiting a doctor that could help. Ironside doesn't have that luxury but we don't hear him gripe about it.

The "disgraced" John Terry story about the story continues to intrigue.

The PR Damage Limitation Squads have moved onto the front foot.

All the RedTops carry photos of John & Toni - "John Terry & Wife"  canoodling in Dubai, in what are clearly stage-managed photo-shoots, but their body language won't even convince Year One Body Language students of a scintilla of warmth.

Mrs Terry - Toni - is now being described as "the doormat", nice, & to ease their conscience, the Media ascribe this comment to a WAG. Quite so.

The Times Magazine has a 5 page exclusive interview with John Terry, a "poor John" type thing. Half of it, including a full page, are photos of John, mostly in an Englnd shirt which looks pretty much like any other England shirt. The photo captions include "John Terry iin Umbro's new England away strip".

At the foot of the article, where the Author's byline might normally appear, it says this....

"The new Umbro England away kit goes on sale on March 3rd (umbro.com)".

So, in fact, it's an "advertorial".

The Media's assumption that we are all plum stupid  is something to behold.

Good story, mind, with plenty of mileage yet.

The problem tho Tony is that Sky, especially their Sports news channel have dumbed down so much and created so many stories out of simply nothing that it has now become the norm in most media forms.

All these 'stories' that just happen to be about their live football matches that are on over the weekend and their'breaking news' twaddle has finally been seen thru by most sensible people.

I saw the last 5 minutes of their Arsenal v Liverpool match in midweek. After the final whiostle they employ a guy to interview a player/manager from each side. He started both interviews off with, ' So Cesc, should the ref have given a penalty against you at the end'

Then onto the Pool manager' did the ref;s refusal to give a pen at the end cost you the chance of points in this game'

He isnt even interested in what the  final score is, his job is simply to get a quote or line that can then be used on said sports channel for the next 2 days, ie Cesc says ref should have given a pen, or Rafa fumes at refs decision., and all this for a handball that happened outside the area.

Seems they are only interested in making any kind of controversy that they can talk about until the next round of games, just the same as asll these 'advertorials' that appear in print as articles too

I'm trying to avoid being a "Diet Bore", but I can't help it.

Midnight tonight sees the completion of Day 9 of my Diet, & as I reckon it will take 3 months to sort myself out to a more sensible weight, I'm 10% of the way there.

I just got dressed for the Show, & already my "TV Suit" fits me better, phew, how good did that feel?

Based on my daily average, here is what I would have consumed in 9 days, pre-diet.

36 Latte coffees, each with 3 sugars.

27 Egg Mayonnaise sarnies.

7 Pork Pies.

9 Egg Sarnies.

9 Cooked Brekkies.

7 Pot Noodles.

18 packets of Crisps.

7 Snicker Bars.

16 Canteen Dinners, usually something & chips.

Assorted "energy chocolates" during TV Shows.

2 packs (24 tablets in each) of Rennies.

Dieting is SO satisfying.

Every time I pass a Motorway Service Station & don't yield to temptation, I get a sort of mental pat on the back,. "Yes, I resisted". To drive home means 7 Service Stations, so I get 7 ticks.

It's incredibly satisfying to, last thing at night, reflect on the day. And I get up in the mornings feeling so much better, physically & mentally.

Of course, when its over, I'll resort to binge eating again. It's a sequence I've repeated annually for some 30 years.

There's no accounting for stupidity.

Thank you. Do you mean in the Lattes, or overall? It's amazing how much better I feel already.

Even my mojo has returned.

I'm a bit bothered that all this water I'm drinking will give me the water equivelant of a beer belly. Not sure what I can do about it though - my bottle of water is my "comfort cloth", & I swig at it all day.

well i have read that some people say your bread and crisps etc break down to sugar in your body but i don't know enough about it to comment. nobody could argue that sugar in your coffee and chocolate is good for you though, could they?

Hope you saw your GP/dietician before you started this tho' as you seem light on fresh fruit

Salt is BAD? How so?

As to GP/Dietician, no, I don't have either. And I've never eaten fresh fruit in my life, except when dieting, I usually consume grapes by the bag - as many as 2 or 3lb per day.

Felt very "comfy" in the Studio tonight, wearing a suit that actually fitted. Dieting does strange things to the head.
