Don't get caught with red diesel in your tank though  Grin Grin Grin

I once bought a van from a boat-yard. After driving around in it for a couple of weeks I was waved into a Ministry of Transport spot-check and they dipped my diesel.

I wasn't worried, I'd filled up several times at the garage and knew I only had white diesel in my tank. Sure enough, when they drew some into a plastic bottle it was clear white.

Still, they decided to do a presumptive test for traces of red diesel so they added some chemicals to it and what do you know, it showed that red diesel had been in my tank.

At this point, a police officer put his hand on the bonnet of my van and said "I arrest this vehicle in the name of Her Majesty's customs and excise".

I realised immediately what had happened. Boat yards store red diesel just like they do on farms.

"Am I under arrest?" I asked.

"No, but your van is".

I explained my case, telling them about the boat-yard and everything, it didn't help. I was told that I would have to pay a £500 fine to get the van back and that was that.

Loved the story, Tom, though I must admit I really was hoping it would end slightly differently.

I adjusted the squelch and BOOM! There it was.

The signal was strong and clear but the voice was hesitant and frightened.

"Who's there?"

"Hello" I replied, "My name is Tom McCready, over".

"Yo Dog", the voice came back, a little more confidently now, "wassup Bro"

At first I didn't know what to think about this bloke, but having cogitated a bit, I have to say I feel sorry for him.

I wonder if tattoo addiction is a form of self-harm?

To continue with Stormzy for a moment, I have to agree with Doobs's statement.

"Fair play to the fella, doing so well from his background"

The thing is, for me all rap is shite so I have no yardstick by which to measure his talent.

With proper singers I can make comparisons. For instance, on a descending scale of talent we might have say

Adele
Taylor Swift
Michael Crawford
Max Bygraves
Harry Styles
Jedwood
Robbie Williams

Can someone who 'gets' rap tell me where Mr Owuo Jr would sit in that list so that I can get a handle on things.

Have you not seen Eminem's film "8 Mile"?

That took me as close to "getting rap" as I am able to - good movie too.

I have been listening to Hip Hop for at least 30 years so guess i have a reasonable handle on the subject, one thing here is although Stormsy is a rapper, he is a UK Grime artist rather than a Hip Hop rapper, it s different genre so to speak. So really you would want to know how does he rank in the Grime scene? I'm guessing he would be right up at the top of the UK scene.

As for how he ranks in the all time of rappers, he wouldn't make my top 20.

Thanks for that Tractor, you post was helpful but I have to say I also found it profoundly disturbing.

You're a land working, agricultural machinery operating, meat pie eating, welly wearing, straw chewing rural sort of chap. You should be listening to folk music. Bands like The Spinners, Peter Paul & Mary and Five Penny Piece.

Rap?
Hip Hop?
Grime FFS?

Say it isn't so Tractor. Say it isn't so.

Yesterday at 11:45am I encountered 3 fully grown women wearing dressing gowns.

Was I

A - In a hospital?

B -  Visiting a spa

C - Shopping in Lidl?

Someone hurry up and take a guess so that I can reveal the answer and move on to the next part of the question.

PS- When I wrote the word 'question' just then I got one letter wrong and the spell-checker thought I was trying to spell 'inquest'.

Does it know something I don't?
