Thanks Rod.

I was going to say I've always loved law but when I stop to think about it the law is often stupid. I think what I really love is the way people interpret the law and how they manipulate the English (or Scottish) language to do so.

I do love court cases though.

I think I'm even starting to love politics, I just wish they would just conduct things in a less childsh fashion.

Will there be another Scottish independence referendum and could an independent Scotland work?

I do have a vested interest BTW, this is John McCready, my great great grandfather on my father's side.

i feel it's inevitable - the only age group with a majority against it is the over 65's. I think it's really close when I see the furore over the Salmond/Sturgeon thing. Compared to recent faux pas from Westminster with actual law breaking being pretty much ignored, the attention to an inquiry into lying speaks of dirty tricks. The stream of 'One Party State' and too poor, too wee news and comment which is rising again makes me think it might be closer than I'd hoped.

I have no doubt there would be some teething troubles but Scotland would manage fine independently we're a rich nation resource wise, just not good at keeping the income in our hands, that would need to change if we had control of our own policy.

Tom that is a fantastic image. Is it a painting or a photograph?

I think it's a photograph of a painting Kev.

My dad was an only child and as far as we knew there were no other relatives.

Not long before my dad died he was contacted by a cousin, they exchanged some information he sent my dad 5 photographs. One was of my great grandad with two of his daughters, (My grandad's sisters) and one was of my great grandad.

That's interesting Geo.

I wonder if it was posed or if the image has been reversed at sometime.

I don't know anything about bagpipes but I can't find an image on anyone with them on the right shoulder.

That said I have noticed that the longest of the pipes is next to his head, if he had put them on the wrong shoulder that pipe would have been furthest from his head.

Does that make sense? Any help or opinions appreciated.

Went for a longer than usual bike ride this morning. Inherited a pair of 'free to good home' boot & wellies.

Perfect fit for Sadie.

Anyone cut the lawn yet this year?

Yes but didn’t get much off it last Tuesday when it was dry
More of a tidy up

I did some research. Average date of first cut is end of March/beginning of April so we're about a month early.

I used to strip starter-motors for the copper content, I've done thousands of them. Bit this bloke re-wiring one with primitive tools has blown me away.

That was impressive.

My mate's a mechanic & was talking about it with him this morning & he wishes more modern cars could be worked on in a similar way. I've one of diagnostic machines home to try and do a software update for him because even simple jobs are needing computer interfaces now.

Even my old scooter throws up fault codes that I then have to to put into a computer to diagnose. Fortunately the owners clubs have the info because the dealerships won't give it to you.

My bike's computer thinks the secondary throttle valve is malfunctioning, (It isn't) so it wants to put the engine into limp-mode. I removed the valve completely and now it runs better than ever. (secondary throttle valve is only an emissions thing anyway)

It was always Easter if possible here but with a dog the grass gets longer hides the dog poo and it can get messy
Plus when it s longer the cats poo 💩 in it too
So crewcut style rules in our back yard
Although 75% is now a patio for a summer house / garden room  later this year to be built
