I just love the goose.

Got the goldfinches here atm. I'm gonna get a good pic of them one of these days.

I'm thinking of moving the bird a little bit every few days until it's really close to the window.

Those geese look like they are just having fun - flying upside down 'because they can'

What seems to be a pair of  Bullfinches has taken to sitting in the trees in our garden - the male is very obvious and what I take to be the female is always with him.

I have a couple of photos, but nothing worthy of public viewing yet.

Bullfinches usually pair for life so it will be the hen with him. Her plumage will be the same as his, black cap, white rump, but sans pink breast and cheeks.

will they come to a feeding station? We have one in the front garden which gets loads of bluetits, sparrows, dunnocks , robins and the occasional coal and great tit but these two haven't ventured onto it

less tree at the front of the house maybe, or just no interest in the mixed seed and fatballs?

Bullfinches are shy at first but they can soon become very confident, especially the males.

They're very fond of sunflower seeds and they prefer to feed from a tray rather than a perch type feeder.

Try to wedge a feeding dish inside a hedge or some other cover at first.

You'll like this one Tom. It's a maths fact.

If you took a pack of just 12 cards and shuffled them 1000 times, there's only a 0.1% chance two shuffles will be the same.

The human brain struggles to comprehend large numbers and probability, and I think I read something on blonde previously that said it's unlikely that two (proper) shuffles of a deck of cards have ever resulted in the same order of the 52 cards.

What do you think to those 'facts' Gatters?

Just found this (been looking for it ever since I posted) http://www.matthewweathers.com/year2006/shuffling_cards.htm

It's very improbable that two decks have ever been shuffled into the same order.

Mmmm, maybe I should have said 'proper shuffles'.
