Then, when you've enjoyed them - put aside some time and have a look through these:

Some of them are just wow.

Wow, some of those are so emotive.

Thanks Dan.

You might just enjoy this Photo, too, though this is not Appleby, of course.

The policing of Appleby fair has become so heavy handed in recent years that it's totally put me off going.

The crime rate is extremely low for such a big gathering, even so, people (Gypsies) are stopped, manhandled, searched and arrested without reason or provocation.

In 2010 the Gypsies marched in protest. Thousands joined in. It was supposed to be a peaceful protest and that's what it turned out to be. There was no damage caused, no vandalism, no looting or fighting with the police.

The young men stood quietly in the background while the older men did the talking.

Soz Tone. You asked a polite question and I used it as an opportunity to vent. I really must stop doing that.

No more angry dog today.

When you are venting, I just keep my head down Tom.

Duck the punches, don't ride 'em, me.

Wiiiiiiiiiiii, working from home today, obv sat in the dining room so I can spy on the birdies. Saw this one earlier, wasn't sure what it was but after a bit of detective work it appears it is a juvenile starling! I wonder if it is one of the same ones which has been nesting in my roof.

Nice pics Milly.

There are loads of young uns about now. We have a whole bunch of teenage jackdaws tearing around the place, knocking things over and scaring old lady blackbirds.

They're like a gang of Hells Angels.

My sister bought our parents 2 nesting boxes for Xmas ,so dad put em up n made 2 more they were delighted to get blue tits in one of them ,they had 4 chicks 1 died tho so dad removed it ,it had been pushed to one side of box ,it's been a treat to watch these birds fly at a one inch hole many times each day and go straight into the box with food
There was a magpie one day sat on the perch looking in but obv could only get his head in and did them no harm
They have all recently flown the nest ,you often see blackbirds learning to fly but we saw nothing of these baby blue tits
