As I wistfully looked on, you were schmoozing away, and she smiled shyly. I turned and wrote down a hand in the comp involving Lawrence Gosney

Someone had it right, and it wasn't me!

Ah yes, the Gorgeous Melissa (SP?) Greek for Honey bee.

She's almost 21.

She works in a bookmakers but doesn't bet on horses.

Her ambition is to play very high stakes cash on line.

She likes strawberry ice cream and diet coke mixed with milk.

She bets her draws and makes the occasional hero call.

She's very bright, confident and easy going.

She speaks well on a wide range of subjects.

She doesn't wear much makeup, she's extremely beautiful in an understated, natural sort of way.

There's more, but it wouldn't be right for me to publish personal stuff on a public forum.

Speaking of how popular I am, posh Alex invited me to join him, his cool mates, and Mitch on an out of town poker trip.

I declined. How can I join in with conversations that go:

I was thrilled to be asked though.

I know that spring doesn't officially begin until 7:02am on the 20th of March, but it's such a beautiful spring like day here, it almost makes you, (well me) want to cry.

As my dear, and almost certainly now departed Polish friend Bolek used to say, "I cry for happy."

Through the window I can see some very early catkins, (they look like a green haze on the willow tree) and I can hear the soft ticking sound of expanding metal as the sun heats up the roof.

The rooks are convinced it's spring too. Already they are carrying unfeasibly large unwieldy twigs, and fighting noisily over the best nest sites in a small stand of oaks. I wonder how many broods have been raised there over the years?

We had a siskin on the bird table this morning. I used to see loads but they seem so rare these days. I hope he decides to stay.
