I've had hiccups since Monday evening apart from an hour or two.
Know any ancient cures that I may not have tried?
You had hiccoughs for more than 24 hours?
Saw this listed on a website as a potential cure
Take a deep breath in, then keep the air inside you while pushing with your muscles as if to force the air out. This is like pushing in childbirth or straining on the toilet.
Yeah can't see how that could go wrong...
Ha!
At Ralph's age, best not put too much faith in the old sphincters.
Not wrong Tony.
Thankfully the hiccups now seem to have departed after 48+ hours of torment.

Did anyone see the uproar that this caused?

Surely he meant execute the legislation rather than the people.

There was hardly a mention of it anywhere though Ralph.

The windscreen for my motorcycle arrived yesterday, along with a big bag of accoutrements and no instructions. After a couple of hours palaver I managed to get it fitted and off I went for a test ride.

It worked a treat as far as keeping the wind off me was concerned, but unfortunately Booder's prophecy on helmet buffeting came true. My head seemed to be trapped in a kind of vortex of swirly air, it felt strange and it was loud, like putting your head near a base speaker.
Last night I did some research and found out that the problem can sometimes be solved by adding an additional, adjustable screen to the top of the existing screen, so I took the visor from an old helmet, drilled some elongated holes in it to allow for adjustment, inverted it and bolted it on. Then I went for another test ride.

It did improve things, but not by much, so I removed both screens and now my bike is naked again.
£26 and several hours work wasted. Gotta chalk that one up as a DIY fail.

Why the f**k shouldn't the remark be taken seriously?

Don't forget to turn your clocks back tonight.
I'm turning mine back to when I was 20.

I didn't see it.
If I do know where it is I don't recognise it from that angle.
I'm guessing the red bit is poppies?

More than 1400 civilian and military staff got together to form an incredible giant poppy in the middle of GCHQ's 'doughnut' building in Cheltenham, to celebrate the launch of this year's Poppy Appeal.
The centre of the poppy was made by Royal Navy staff in black uniforms, petals by GCHQ staff in red rain ponchos, and military staff in green combat dress for the stalk.
The completed poppy had a 28m long stalk and a 38m diameter, and took an hour to assemble. We love it!

Amazing, but my antivirus program doesn't like that link rich.
