And another thing. How come I can no longer hire a pedestrian flail mower? They were all over the place back in the day.

I bet health and safety have been sticking their padded oar in again. I can't be doing with bloody safe healthy people.

Why are the words 'The Color' part of the film title The Color Purple?

I have little but loathing for that expression "track record", usually qualified on CVs by "proven".

It's up there with "very urgent". Is that right? Ok. I'll put it in front of the quite urgent pile...

The banksman was quite a prestigious job on a building site back in the day, anything you wanted to do, including a tom tit, required his say-so first.

Wonder what the derivation of the word "banksman" is?

Seems to me he would use a bank as a vantage point. The bloke standing on the barrel is doing the same thing.

Ahh yes, of course - "bank" is a term I heard used a great deal when I used to do colliery work.

Thee'll find tha 'ol lad on t'bank.
