This photograph, taken around 50 years ago was sent to my daughter the other day. It shows some friends of mine fetching water and it evokes so many memories.

Back then, an old pram was an essential piece of kit. We used them to transport gas bottles, bags of coal, children, shopping etc.

We kids often got the job of hauler. Sometimes three or four families of children with a pram for each group would go on an errand together. It was more like an adventure than work, we would pretend to be truckers or a wagon train.

I've lost count of the number of times we've given in to temptation and rode the pram down hill alongside the water, which usually  resulted in all of us getting spilled out at the bottom.

I somehow stumbled upon Dr. No on ITV and believe it or not, at this very moment Bond has just been forced to swap his beloved Beretta for the Walther PPK on M's orders.

Still not convinced it was in the books though..

Yes, tatting. I was dressed out of the tats until i was about 16

Your post is so interesting to me but it raises so many questions.

Please tell me more about your nana. What was her name? Was she married? What did her husband do? How come she used to go tatting? Where did you live? How long ago was this?

What a coincidence Ralph. It was in the books though. Swelp me God.

How was your dinner? Knowing you a bet it was excellent. Ours was triffic. 14 of us there was. You should have come, I'm sure you wouldn't mind eating off your knee, all the boys did so that the girls could have the tables

I may have been slightly inebriated when posting last evening, as in the sober light of day I seem to recall that it was established during our previous discussion on here that I was in fact wrong about the Walther PPK.

My roast beef and Yorkshire pudding was lovely thank you, especially the yorkies which were a personal best; it pained me to have to throw the last two away they were so light and delicious. The beef could have done with an extra ten minutes if I'm hyper-critical, but the tatties were nice and crunchy.

That must have been some turkey to feed fourteen of you, I would't know where to start if I had to cook for more than three or four peeps.

Season's greetings to you Zelly and the girls.

Yes, file that between "I've got too much money" and "this Royal Flush is rubbish"
