On the Tiber we saw a somewhat dilapidated floating restaurant with a deck that had a marked slope from port to starboard. I managed to convince Mrs R that it was a listed building.

I quite enjoyed my little joke until she woke me at 3am the following morning with a punch in the ribs and a cry of "Listed building my arse".

Hi Ade.

I've been nursing a torn calf muscle in my left leg, torn tendons in my right arm and a severe bout of man flu, so I've been taking it a bit easy.

An ordinary bloke would have been bed ridden.

How do you like my new humane mouse trap?

The bottle is smeared with peanut butter and it swivels around easily on the wire.

Think it will work?

Watching a bucket change sizes.

Fascinating stuff. I

I'll have you know that bucket is a milk churn circa 1958. I've pushed it many a mile on a pram, (They made good strong prams in those days) filled it from thousands of different taps, (sometimes with stolen water) and pushed it home again.

Mrs Red used to polish the churns every week. We haven't used this one for the last 20 years but she still had a fit when she saw the state it was in.

Hi Tom,
Glad to hear you are soldiering on through those injuries.
If the mouse trap doesn't work at least they will be fit going around and around on that bottle  Cheesy
The churn reminds me of when i was a kid, my Dad used to drive a churn lorry, would spend many a summer holiday from school with him. When i first went the full churns were too heavy for me, so it was part full or empties i would move.
Quite a risky job esp in winter, most farmers didn't look after the churn stands, mostly made from old sleepers, and would get very slippery. Often built at the wrong height for the lorry as well .
Then bulk tanks came in and the churn lorries died and they used tankers, a much easier job for the driver.
Those churns make a few quid now.
