have a look at the ATKINS DIET - LOW CARB..... all the meat , eggs and cheese you can eat.
Bacon for breakie
steak and egg for lunch
Easiest diet ive been on and lost over 3 stone in process (knocking 20 when started) and the easiest one ive found to stick too.
Hardest bit is to stick to Gin N tonic rather than a pint
Thanks Mr Shambo, but I don't really have trouble losing weight, it's just that I keep putting it back on.
I can't very well live on meat, eggs and cheese for the rest of my life can I?
Well I could, but the rest of my life is probably short enough already.
That's EXACTLY it, Tom.
Losing weight? Piece of piss, I can shed 2 stones every year, no prob at all.
And I can pile it back on even easier, which I also do annually.

How do you feel now that your weight is off Tone, and will you be making any attempt to keep it off?
Obviously you can't continue on your current diet, you'll waste away.

I feel great, Tom, best I've felt in ages.
The Dietician lady said "fantastic, now change your lifestyle & eat sensibly".
And Gill desperately wants me to stay healthy, so as to, you know, live a little longer.
And the chances of me being sensible, & not piling it all back on once I've reached my target weight?
Zero.
Can't help myself, I just can't. Love bad food, & plenty of it, that's all there is to it.

im the same, ive lost weight with fad diets but always struggle when I stop, this is the easiest one ive found to stick to and have a happy medium. I take a few days off put a bit back on and then easy to pick diet back up. its basically cutting out carbs.

I don't know if you are familiar with barrister, playwright and author Sir John Mortimer. He wrote Rumple of the Bailey, among a million other things.
Sir John was well known for his excesses and his love of the finer things in life. Your last post reminded me of a quote of his, (I think it was from his excellent memoir, Clinging to the Wreckage.
There is no pleasure worth forgoing just for an extra three years in the geriatric ward.

Today's breakfast. (comments welcome, as are tasty, healthy, sustainable breakfast suggestions)
One slice wholemeal toast with egg fried in a little olive oil.
One slice of wholemeal toast with peanut butter & banana drizzled with a little honey.

Have you tried substituting the fried egg with a poached egg? Not quite as good, but still very palatable.
Is "drizzled" a posh term for "stuff poured on"?

And there we have it.
On the strength of that, I might just take up smoking again.

It's a good idea, the trouble is I always get my own breakfast and I'm crap at poaching eggs.
My brother does them in clingfilm, (fk knows how) and they turn out perfect.

BTW- drizzled means exactly that, drizzled.
You don't say it 'stuff poured on' with rain do you?

I'm sure that Tony is typing out his tried and trusted method of poaching eggs as we speak.
I actually prefer poached eggs and always have them "medium" on wholewheat toast with crispy bacon and hash browns for brekkie in Vegas.
I never have them at home though as I too am a crap poacher but had always assumed that Tom would excel in that field.
