Congratulations on your mechanical achievements. Remember "We choose to change the power steering box in an old car not because it is easy, but because it is hard"*. You should get a badge, or a medal or something.

* (or maybe because we have been roped in and are too cheap to pay someone who already owns Torx sockets)

At least you can get a Haynes Manual for most cars.
Try getting any form of manual for for a 1995 Iveco 75e15.

So far I haven’t had to do much mechanically with it beyond replacing the gear lever and a door and an ongoing process of replacing the wires to the lights.

I have to ask why you have a 1995 Iveco?

My guess is a horsebox.

It was a horsebox when we bought it. It’s now officially a Motor Caravan.

I’ve struggled to find any videos that were helpful.

Oh my various Gods! How interesting.

More info please David.

How did you come by it?

Did you convert it?

Is it usable yet?

Have you changed the V5 to 'Motorhome'

Any pics?

In my case in the early days it was more a case of too skint rather than too cheap.

I suppose I am in a better position to pay someone to do stuff now but old habits die hard and anyway, I already own Torx sockets.

I think you just want to join our exclusive club.

Go on. Change a power steering box. You know you want to.  Smiley

Mr Tal.

I discovered this morning that I am probably a dilettante.

Opinion please.

I think it's better to dilettante than to never have diled at all.

Long story. But we bought it to convert, and yes it’s been pretty much all my work.
It has a battery system with solar and battery to battery charging which means it will run a 12v compressor fridge freezer. An underslung lpg tank with a hob and oven and a Morco room sealed boiler which feeds the shower and sink.
Yes, the V5 now records it as a Motor Caravan.
I have pics but I struggle to share them on here. Apparently they are too large.

Things I've learned today.

Alan Clarke owned and lived in a castle.

Jenny Agutter did a movie with a full nudity sex scene.

Alan Clarke owned Leeds Castle, which is nowhere near Leeds. Posh folks have no sense.

I know Jenny did Walkabout, but I don’t remember their being any sex in that.

Pics are on my iPad btw,

Heh, too true. Although the choice for this one was:

DIY: a few square inches of skin, £15 for a Torx socket set and £300 for a motor refurb.
Garage: £3100 to supply and fit a new steering column and motor, not sold separately as apparently they're coded to the VIN.
