The photo is said to be from 1946, but top left corner you can just see the front of a car, & that does not look 1946 style or colour to me.

Weird, I noticed the galvanised bath, which I assumed was water or feed for the horse., but never noticed the knifey thing the boy is holding. What would that be used for? Chopping wood?

Just realised that the Mum goes by the name of Hobbit. It's all starting to make sense now. As soon as they're old enough to work out what's going on, the kid will probably be keeping its location secret, from them. |

The footwear is quite interesting; stove-pipe hat gent appears to be wearing galoshes(sp?), overshoes that I've only seen when I lived in Canada.
