So they must be legal if they are renting them out.

Only where there are trials of them.

The sky here is an unusual colour this morning, sky-blue.

The regular grey clouds look like they've taken the Daz doorstep challenge.

Barely above the treeline and just out of shot there is a big yellow disc. I didn't include it in the picture because it flares in the camera lens. It also hurts my eyes, warms my skin and makes me smile.

Today feels like the real beginning of a new year.

I can't believe we're almost at the end of the era of the internal combustion engine.

They have been so much a part of my life one way and another. I've spent countless hours trying to make them work or keep them working properly, sometimes for fun but more often through necessity.

Some I have loved and some I have hated but all have taught me something.

I've had an electric car since September. I won't be going back. As with all things, it wasn't the going green that enticed me but the financial aspects. My Diesel bill was North of £300 a month and my monthly hire fee is £300. Obvs I had a deposit(than would've been spent on a newer Mondeo by now) but running costs are a lot lower as bits shouldn't be coming to end of life in the next three years.I don't think in the long run it will be cheaper than buying a car every 3-4 years however I'll have a new car every three years. Just think my money's working harder for me with a PCH. Essentially my diesel costs pay for a new car.

Given your circumstances an electric car seems eminently sensible.

My love affair with the internal combustion engine not withstanding, I would buy an electric car in a heartbeat, If one would A: suit my purpose, B: be available to buy second hand at a price that will cover most of the depreciation loss during my ownership, and C: not fall victim to some government Pay as You Drive taxation scheme that negates any saving I may be making on diesel.

I struggle to see how I would manage to roam around in an electric camper.
