Is captain Coloccini strong enough to lead Newcastle?

His ex-coach has his doubts http://bbc.in/1RF5kox

He should be nowhere near the team and should have been replaced yonks ago.

If he is going to be in the team he shouldn't be captain.

Although John Carver can shut up - not like he did anything about it himself when he had the chance.

Pardew was never gonna get anything tonight to help us was he. Honeymoon period over for him.

Bagged derby day tickets yesterday, can't cope at the thought of another drive home after losing

Pardew for England, with wickham up tops (obviously supported with wingbacks in front of fullbacks)

howay mike give us a chance for the last 10 games, only thing we can change at this stage is manager so he has to go.

Gutting to watch everybody else throwing everything at it and us just looking more and more like aston villas second coming.

At this point you can't see anything other than another spell (hopefully as brief) in the Championship. The games left should give some hope but the frailties, the lack of confidence and some spankings on the road to come are a massive ask. Sad to say I just think Sunderland have more balls and bit and that will make a big difference. I certainly can't see us getting more than 36 points so it's really a question of if that will be enough....

Manger wise it's at that point where he has to go. Regardless of the rights and wrongs if an 18 day build up with the players gets those last two results it says it all. I'd be up for Moyes for a long period but not sure he'd have what's needed for massive short term impact....

If they haven't tinned him by now I can't see the point.  Unless you want to give a fist pumper like Di Canio a 3 month contract.

They should get in the Legend Alan Shearer.
He'd instill the passion, belief, heart, courage that he says on tv they are lacking. Just like he did last time.

I see before the Bournemouth game, he said Newcastle "had to win." They didn't so what does that mean? Now the Sunderland game is apparently "must win."
If they draw that, they'll still have a few chances to escape, so I guess he'll move on to "last chance saloon."
