I think This is England could possibly be the best drama show we've made in this country. The writing is unbelievable, such an intense program to watch, will be sad when it ends on Sunday, so so good.

Thought the first two episodes were a bit wishy washy tbh but the dinner table scene in episode 3 was absolutely brilliant.

Anybody seen The Brink? Comedy starring Jack Black and Tim Robbins.

Watched it all and really enjoyed it. Watch out for a hilarious Rob Bryden cameo.

The finale to This is England 90 was brilliant imo. Such a raw drama, and they do a great job of capturing the bleakness of the times.

Season 2 Gotham started with a trilogy called "Rise of the villains". Dark, twisted, focused and theatrical with a little bit of campness thrown in, it's everything that season 1 wasn't.

And Vic Mackey comes in as the new captain next week. Hope they can keep it up.

I actually think This Is England '90 was poor.
The Combo release was criminally under done (excuse the pun) and the dynamic with Milky not at all explored, or the time he spent with Woody and Lol straight after release. What we got from Stephen Graham was, of course, brilliant, but we should have gotten a lot more time with him. Him interacting so positively with the people at the community centre, of all skin colours, despite the swastika tattoo on the back of the neck we kept getting close ups of needed more attention.

Also, Kelly and her descent into drug addiction, and her battle back out. She confesses to Lol that she's been injecting but no longer does, misses the wedding service but manages to force herself to the reception, she battles through all this without the help of her friends. Her immediate, non-negotiable expulsion from the flat didn't make much sense to me either.

If the Woody and Lol wedding was used as a tool to explore any of the other relationships or story lines, fine, but it just seemed to stand alone as a wedding story.

A lot of the cast and characters were brilliant and I feel a bit let down by it if I'm honest.

I've not watched yet, but did anyone see River last night on BBC? I'm a fan of the Nordic crime drama, this is the Beebs take on the genre.

it was ok. not the killing/borgen quality though

a rather strange supernatural theme ran through it.

i'll watch the second one but its a slow burner for me, at this stage

The new series of The Blacklist is amazing. One of the most underrated shows on American TV at the moment.

Loving Blindspot so far, 4 eps in.

This, Quantico and Limitless are the best of the new series IMO.

The Player is good for a laugh but is prob gonna get cancelled so dont get too invested.

Would also recommend Rosewood.

Fargo Season 2  is a bit like Boardwalk Empire for me. Everything about it exudes quality and I like it but I feel like I should absolutely love it, but I just don't.

New X Files in January includes follow up to Home (S4E2) which is said to be the sickest hour ever on Network TV in the States. Shown once then banned it starts with a new born baby being buried alive and doesn't really get any better.
