Thought you boxing sorts may - or may not - be interested in two short clips featuring Spencer Oliver. I'd met him before, at a Sky Poker event, & I enjoyed his company, seemed a decent sort to me. I'm easily impressed though.....
In the first, he discusses Anthony Joshua.
In the 2nd, he talks about the injury that curtailed his career.

Good stuff Tikay. Is there any more footage? My remote played up when I tried to record the whole show.

You'll need to use the FF function to speed past the waffle, especially the part at the top where, with a straight face, I discuss my absolute love for SPOTY, "best TV Show of the year".
That apart, you may find some interesting stuff from Spencer. I prompted him to discuss Barry & Eddie Hearn, of course, & we discussed the Hearn's at great length. Bear in mind this was on Sky Sports, to whom Spencer is contracted, so Spencer was always going to take the Company line.
He discusses Callum Smith v Rocky Fielding, too.
As you know, I don't know a thing about boxing, but Spencer certainly enthused about Anthony Joshua, "the future of boxing". Maybe he has connections, I don't know, but he certainly seemed to think that Joshua is the real deal. (Approx 19 mins 20 seconds onwards)
I've had the pleasure of meeting at length both Spencer Oliver & Carl Froch recently, & they both struck me as decent guys. I'm easily impressed, of course, & do get a bit star-struck when I meet these sorts.

It must must of been the tailend of last year this happened, I was in Ladbrokes and a nice young female clerk was ringing through a bets for me. When Anthony Joshua's name was mentioned her eye's lit up, she looks me straight in the eye and says "Oooooh I like him." Let's just say that he's got some mainstream potential.
On TFT we'd a few bet's on Anthony Joshua, specifically rounds 2-3 and over 1.5 rounds. The angle being that they were sandbagging with AJ by telling him to take it easy in round 1. However, there was a small hitch in that plan. Even when AJ was sandbagging, he sometimes still knocked them out too early.

On the brightside Eddie Hearn gave an interview saying this fight could be finalised within 2 weeks.
We should probably take that with a pinch of salt.
Frampton Quigg is on! Feb 27th at the Manchester Arena.
Eddie I never doubted you for one moment

Spencer Oliver is one of the good guys in boxing. He used to do this fun thing on the Ringside show where he would train with all the top trainers and critqued their approaches. He was still in peak condition after his injury so it was good use of him as a pundit. There was one really funny one where he trained with Nobby Nobbs, who was infamous for training journeymen who had no hope in hell of winning.

Cool, I'm sure the there will be plenty of publicity before the tickets go on sale.
It'll be an exciting fight, it's toughest opponent either fighter has faced, and we'll get to see exactly how much each man has got in reserve.

As much as i despise him, I think Khan has a chance on points v Pacquiao. Pacman is getting on a bit now, and i wonder how he will cope with the speed of Khan. Manny hasnt won by KO since 2009, and while I know that Khan has been sparked in the past, I just dont see it this time.
Khan on points for me.
