The manager of my local NatWest Bank, where I've had various accounts for so long that I'm embarrassed to write the number, has just told me (in a barely suppressed irritable tone of voice) that the "Signing officer of a bank... or a financial institution that offers a full range of banking services (cash withdrawals, deposits, savings)" does not include her or her bank, or the NatWest, apparently.

It's probably based on the fact that they cannot charge a fee for being a guarantor for a passport application.

I'm going to calm down a little (only I can tell me to "calm down", btw) and develop a campaign of complaint culminating in the transfer of my business across the street.

Luckily with some quick thinking i downloaded the Ryanair app on my Ipad using free airport wifi while at the bag drop off area lol. Downside  had to walk around like a bigger nob than i am with a giant boarding pass.
