Yeh need some updates please. Aside from the financial hurt it's causing me, I've been enjoying seeing you back on the felt. Tell the world about THAT pot we played together the other day and how you didn't much enjoy us crashing your party at Gala last night.

What's all this Gala stuff? Played this weekend and noticed the likes of Pete Gigglesworth and Paul Gurnham were at Alea playing instead. I blindly support Dtd because its the nuts imo so don't understand locals going elsewhere.

If Dtd was in Scunthorpe you would not catch me playing down The Dog n Rat

Presumably they feel playing a 27 runner comp with added £s gives them more chance of winning? Smiley

Oh really. Petes Facebook status and added comments did seem a little vague for once

Alright I'll spill the beans. But come on Belton, pull your socks up man!

£1/2 at DTD, Sean has raised over a few limpers, I call in the straddle with Two Clubs two spades and we go multiway to Two Diamonds. I lead for £40, somebody calls, Sean makes it £159 or something. I shove for £500 effective.

Sean says "I call but don't deal the turn yet. Do you want to run it twice?"

"I don't mind, whatever you want"

"Well what do you have?" Sean asks

"I have a set" I say.

Sean snap turns over .

"I guess just once then" we agree.

Turn .

I say "Ah that's sick mate, unlucky" and go to turn my hand over. Sean absolutely bricks himself.

Probably the most fun I've ever had losing £500. Priceless moment!

haha such nice balance to slowroll range as well, wp alex!

Out of interest, did you momentarily consider folding at all or were you loving life with the 2 duckies?

THREE DUCKIES!

No I didn't consider folding for a second of course. Not exactly loving life, I know I'm getting it in vs a big draw, bigger sets or sometimes Q9 - rarely over pairs, but it's a no brainer decision.

Though I played another hand with Sean in Gala the other night that leads me to believe I'm never getting it in good there. Cliffs being, Sean cbets KQ9hhx in mulitway pot, short stack shoves £80, I shove £260. Sean folds QQ...

Basically couldn't be bothered to take the gamble 'cause I was going to cash out pretty soon. Then forgot to do the cashing out and instead lost a bollocks hand against that Irish guy. £500~ swing between my realisation that leaving the table is the nut line and actually standing up and cashing out so I can eat. Pretty bizarre spot that I'll hopefully never be in again as I'm going to start practicing the art of leaving the table when I'm definitely not going to want to play any more hands.

Normally have a bit more gamble when I play at Dusk and make some thinner +ev moves. Gala is just somewhere I go when I'm short on cash and need to put gas in my car.
