I like your new style of play Sean. I used to think you were a bit ABC before, but recently you've made some changes that have really shone through and I think you're results have improved a lot because of it.

Sean, on the subject of the J4 hand I'm going to quote something that I know you have already read; one of the most important things ever written about poker. It is very easy to get carried away, but always keep this in mind:

There are two ways to pick fruit. One way is to climb a tree, get all scraped up, risk falling out, pick some fruit and climb down. Another way is to stand on the ground and pick the low-hanging fruit. The professional knows how to climb a tree. But he rarely has to.
Tommy Angelo

Climbing trees can be fun of course. But don't forget you're there for the fruit, not the climbing.

Of course. If anyone knows anything about low hanging fruit, it's me. And I'm not just making another reference to my genitals there. Basically the fish had all gone home and taken plenty of money with them, so hopefully will see them again tonight. Cheesy And I just felt like gambling a bit for the night. We kicked it up to £1/2, we weren't going to be staying much later anyway, and I'd had a breakeven night up until then.

Disclaimer: I'm not defending this, nor advocating it.

There is of course a little justification for my 6bet jam. I'm a giant nit, I'm obviously supposed to have a huge hand there. QQ is without a doubt the bottom of Alex's calling range, or at least it should be. So this was going to work a ton of the time, especially as Alex had been getting way out of line all night. I could have waited for a hand with some sort of equity somewhere, but that is way less interesting. J4 is a good story with a fun history in that building versus that particular villain.

John Black, do not try this at home.
